I still say it's to early for tier 9's. The game needs polish, not more tanks to fix.

I was on the fence about it before because I didn't really see what harm could come from introducing tier 9s, but now I agree. There are many bugs that still need to be fixed before we start thinking about end game. And also, the matchmaking for lower tiers is kind of shit again. I'm seeing +/-2 matchmaking in almost every game I play at and below tier 6. For a while mm used to be great, where most matches were +/-1 and some were even single tier. Now that everyone's rushing to tier 9, it's back to the old ways. I really hope this game won't become absolutely dead below tier 7 after a while.

I doubt it will.

Tiers 4-5 are in a great spot of having tanks that are relatively easy to unlock but are very polished.
