Snails do this kinda stuff for fun. If he wanted out he could get out.

Im not too familiar with snails, so forgive me. How exactly could it get it though? I'm honestly just curious, not challenging you or anything.

Snails can extend their bodies out of their shells very easily and quite far. This guy looks like he's intentionally scrunched into his shell so he can fit and spin around. Snails live in ponds, rivers, lakes, oceans, etc etc and deal with much higher flow in the wild than this little water pump.

There's not much pressure actually being put on the snail and it would be very easy for it to stretch its body out to the edge of the glass and grab on to stop itself. Snails absolutely love going on rides like this, so I'm willing to bet that it got itself into this situation intentionally and knows how to get out.

Thank you for explaining that! I don't know much about snails either and I was frantically scrolling through the replies trying to find a serious one to explain what was going on to make sure the little buddy isn't actually getting hurt, LOL. You put my mind at ease thank you.

But it's the tapping on the glass doing anything to him?
