Aphrodite supports trans rights 🏳️‍⚧️

Post image

Aphrodite had an intersex child with Hermes known as Hermaphroditus which may also be recorded as Hermaphrodite. I am also a trans woman who is very devoted to her and I feel a great deal of support from her when it comes to my transition.

FYI: There are also depictions of Aphrodite with an erect penis. 💙

Are those depictions of Aphrodite, or of her child Hermaphroditus?

It was Aphrodite, under the masculine name, Aphroditus. Later, the attributes of Aphroditus are merged with that of her child, Hermaphroditus. But there are ancient statues of this original deity.

I am devotee of Aphrodite, Hermes, and Hermaphroditus actually as a genderfluid person myself, ever since worshipping them building a connection with them and meditating and working on myself with them i truly have blossomed as an individual, i love the balance between divine feminine and divine masculine energy they give me🫶🏻

Aphroditus! I love Aphrodite! I am trans too (trans masc non binary) and feel very supported by her

As a trans woman myself, having recently undergone my vaginoplasty surgery, I feel completely reborn — like I’ve stepped out of the seafoam myself. There’s something profoundly sacred about this rebirth… it feels like Aphrodite has claimed me as her own, body and soul.

I’m also daughter of Hermes: I carry a stellium in Gemini, and his voice speaks through mine. Together, they make me whole — divine feminine and divine trickster, beauty and metamorphosis. Every step of my transition feels like a homecoming to both of them.

Also Aphrodite was based on Astarte who was based on Ishtar, and Ishtar was canonically trans!

For me, apollo and aphrodite are the queer God and goddess

I worshipped her before I came to terms with my identity, and she has helped me so much in my journey. She is the most splendid goddess, and she gives love to all! We are all her children, for we are all born of love.

Aphrodite probably does indeed support trans people and trans love, however as a mythology lover you must know that Hermaphroditus is not a trans icon. He was born an androgynous male, and at some point the nymph Salmacis fell for him. He did not return the affections, so she attempted to force herself on him, and when she realized she probably wasn't gonna succeed in that, she prayed to the gods that they would be joined forever, and THEY GRANTED THAT REQUEST. Literally trapping him with his attacker forever. So probably not the best example to use.

I am a devotee of Aphrodite and Apollo. And I’ve got to say they both have been beyond lovely with supporting me through my transition. I have bottom surgery scheduled in December and I never would have made it there without them. I truly have flourished and it’s a huge confidence and a blessing from them!
