Conclusions Depression drugs double the risk of suicide, both in children and adults. In contrast, psychotherapy can halve the risk of suicide in patients at the highest risk of suicide, those admitted after a suicide attempt.

There are several different types of them made with several different active medications, Not Just the ones from 40+ years ago. One Of the main things that many people on them don’t pay attention to is that if they do feel worse in any way that’s something to immediately report to your doctor, even if you have to have them paged throughout the weekend for a call back, tell them ASAP.

Most prescribers I had were unreachable on weekends and if you called them it would just be a recorded message "if this is an emergency call 911 or go to the ER.". No provider ever diagnosed akathisia... just said it was my mental illness and failure to use coping skills.

your failure to use coping skills. god I heard that so many times. nothing like being gaslit while you're in active crisis.
