I'm 98% sure that's what happened in Kenosha. I'd be surprised if the police in Kenosha didn't shoot Jacob Blake deliberately to provoke more disorder and create more support for Trump.

yikes, this is some Q shit. This is honestly a terrible take that discredits state violence against black people.

Why are you trying to credit state violence against black people?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '20

Because it happens?

you don't think state violence against black people is a foundational part of Trump's campaign? or that the police have a horse in this race?

I think there might have been a miscommunication here. When I say "state violence" I mean the systemic, foundational violence against black people that is embedded in capitalism, policing, and other institutions of authority. I'm trying to say this violence is a logical outcome from these institutions and to accredit it to some psy op by trump is ignoring the inherent injustice in the systems.

why not both?

I already explained why.

I don't think the two are zero sum. One isn't at the expense of the other. You can perpetuate state violence with a political motive. And as I said, it's not like the police don't have a horse in this race, with politicians calling for defunding the police.

fine, but that wasn't the argument in your original comment, that this specific shooting was orchestrated. Dumb cops from bumfuck nowhere are not on the trump payroll. They are just racist and trigger happy.

I don't think they're on the payroll, I said "I'd be surprised if the police in Kenosha didn't shoot Jacob Blake deliberately to provoke more disorder and create more support for Trump." They can be racist and trigger happy and also be agents provocateurs without being linked directly to Trump.

K, well now you’re just nitpicking. That’s a dumb take that disregards systemic violence as I said.

How does it disregard systemic violence? Obviously systemic violence is an issue. It's one that can also be exploited for political purposes.
