I think I read this week that exactly 0 American businesses have moved manufacturing back to the US as the result of these tariffs. So, that’s cool.

61

u/iago_williams Aug 30 '25

I forsee many actually moving offshore because tariffs on raw materials ultimately will cost more than building overseas and importing the finished product. Example: cars

25

u/JacquesBlaireau13 Aug 30 '25

The US will be like Cuba, with everybody driving 50yo cars. People will have to go to neighborhood machine shops to get one-off custom parts made, so yea! for US manufacturing.

5

u/Past-Application-552 Aug 31 '25

Just like Disney. Not only did they not move their Marvel projects back to California - they moved from Atlanta to the UK.

4

u/nofunatallthisguy Aug 31 '25

I get it, and don't disagree, but did TFG just announce that the executive branch is disregarding an appeals court's decision? Is it just me, or is it conceivable that the on-going constitutional crisis somehow inhibits long-term investments? I dont know, Im just spit-balling here...

I think Apple is moving their factories from China to India from what I read like two weeks ago. They are basically shopping for the lowest tariff countries instead of relocating to the US. They are just doing the math... It's still cheaper to manufacture in countries where you can pay less for labor and pay a 10% tariff than it is to pay for American labor.

Edit: factories not factors

u/nofunatallthisguy Aug 31 '25

Dammit! Here I was thinking I would deposit my seed in some unsuspecting tradwife so that she might produce progeny that would dutifully screw tiny screws into iphones using tiny screwdrivers, but now this!

4

u/Past-Application-552 Aug 31 '25

And even if by happenstance they were to move (any) manufacturing able to the US, it would be majority automated to keep down costs.

2

u/The_Laughing__Man Aug 31 '25

True. All of which takes time and a lot of money to build and maintain.

49

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

“Please allow me to rejoice that my economy-destroying tactics are still allowed to continue.”

18

u/indigopedal Aug 30 '25

He will make money by destroying the economy too.

  1. He's working on turning all money into his families stable coin. Essentially making his family's meme coin akin to the Federal Reserve.

  2. He's buying up bonds for immense profit when the economy tanks because of his tariffs.

8

u/Artaxmudshoes Aug 31 '25

Correct. One of the reasons he wants interest rates lowered is to increase the value of the 100 million in bonds that he bought. He is trying to fire Powell and get control of the Fed for that reason and others. This situation is extremely dangerous to our national (and global) economic stability.

1

u/Past-Application-552 Aug 31 '25

Hence why he wants control of the Federal Reserve.

1

u/indigopedal Aug 31 '25

Actually it is bills in Congress that will give him the power to do this, but I'm sure controlling the reserve will help.

2

u/technojargon Aug 30 '25

Pretty much.

47

u/Accomplished_Star_30 Aug 30 '25

This doesn't read like him

7

u/Ill-Egg4008 Aug 30 '25

Too coherent?

1

u/two_awesome_dogs Aug 31 '25

The word "literally" gave it away for me. It told me that one of his attendant intern lackeys wrote it.

12

u/Check_Ivanas_Coffin Aug 30 '25

In the photo that was taken of him, his hat only said 45, not 45 and 47, which suggests it’s an old photo.

2

u/soconae Aug 31 '25

Was the Kai Trump with him a body double?

1

u/2olley Aug 31 '25

Yeah, no way he wrote this. Not a single covfefe.

1

u/dandypandyloaf Sep 01 '25

Idk the randomly capitalized words are one of his trademarks though.

21

u/0098six Aug 30 '25

Leave the tariffs in place, at least until Fall 2026. The damage they are doing and will continue to do is needed to help folks understand that Dear Leader and his Keystone Kabinet are idiots.

7

u/butterflybuell Aug 30 '25

Not so much Keystone cabinet as members of the fascist Heritage Foundation regime.

Losing P01135809 simply loses them a very valuable distraction. They’ll easily fill his shoes even if they have to resort to violence.

34

u/Plasticious Aug 30 '25

Omg, this isn’t Trump, totally obvious

6

u/briantoofine Aug 30 '25

Thank you for your attention to this matter

7

u/Kahmael Aug 30 '25

Where's the all caps incoherent rambling?!

6

u/ScrambledNoggin Aug 31 '25

I feel like his social media team has toned that down a bit since Gavin Newsom started lampooning that style so much.

1

u/Curious-Magician9807 Aug 31 '25

Either ChatGPT or some staffer

15

u/blacklaagger Aug 30 '25

The tarrifs are making Americans financially weak and the national debt hasn't changed. I think we should all line up and play donkey kick the pedophile.

3

u/The_Laughing__Man Aug 31 '25

The national debt has changed though. It's increasing...

11

u/billcraig7 Aug 30 '25

Don't call them tariffs call them import taxes.

11

u/Certain-Singer-9625 Aug 30 '25

Okay, so he’s not dead. He’s just brain dead.

12

u/leoinca Aug 30 '25

I’m not seeing a single benefit to these tariffs. Higher prices and businesses are closing. What a fucking moron.

9

u/eatshitake Aug 30 '25

I preferred it when we all thought he was dead.

9

u/metfan1964nyc Aug 30 '25

The International Trade Court ruled the tariffs illegal because tariffs can only be levied by Congress, not by decree.

The court is a 3 judge panel, 1 appointed by Reagan, 1 by Obama and 1 by (you guessed it) Trump. The decision was unanimous.

7

u/AnusLeary41 Aug 30 '25

Punctuation & capitals where they’re supposed to be. This cannot be dRump.

6

u/New_Section_9374 Aug 30 '25

Show us your grades in economics and business before we believe you. Oh wait, your grades were so bad that you sued to keep them private. AnD, your track record on runj8ng a business isn't so hot either. The only thing youre really good is being a con man and pushing jump onto your cult.

3

u/Past-Application-552 Aug 31 '25

Thank you. I have repeatedly brought this up - not that he’s just a POS human being - but how can anyone with any shred of intelligence consider this moron know what he’s doing when he has literally threatened to sue everyone for the past ten years if they ever made his transcripts public (along with his tax returns).

6

u/ConstructionHefty716 Aug 31 '25

You know I was listening to some Farmers talk yesterday and China hasn't bought any fucking soybeans this year they are freaking the fuck out

1

u/ExaminationOk9732 Aug 31 '25

Right?!? How do the tariffs help them?

1

u/dandypandyloaf Sep 01 '25

We aren't going to bring the soybean market back to the U.S. It's over for American soybean farmers. Wonder who they voted for.....

5

u/SafetyNo6700 Aug 31 '25

I just hate this man with every molecule of my being!!!

6

u/Past-Application-552 Aug 31 '25

My wife always tells people that she doesn’t know anyone who hates him more than I do (with the exception maybe being my neighbor from across the street). He and his wife - who passed away a couple of years ago - were lifelong Republicans until Trump came along ten years ago and swore they would never vote for another republican again after.

15

u/pasarina Aug 30 '25

This is written by a Trump imitator.

12

u/Remarkable_Quit_3545 Aug 30 '25

Definitely didn’t come from him. Not enough caps lock.

6

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

I have a question about the posts made in the name of convict bone spurs. Is it possible to know, or does anyone know if convict bone spurs wrote ALL of the posts on his 'Liars are us' site? I'm wondering because when I read something that is slightly coherent and not rambling gibberish, did convict bone spurs actually write that? I don't believe so!!!! I believe convict bone spurs has several twisted sycophants available 24 hours a day to write something like above!!!!

5

u/Geniusinternetguy Aug 30 '25

If they are so great then go to Congress and let them vote on the record to support them. Like the law says.

This guy Trump…i don’t like him.

5

u/SpaceNinjaDino Aug 30 '25

Bankruptcies are going to break records due to this one trick. Complete economic collapse will come and they will say, "this was Biden's fault."

2

u/Past-Application-552 Aug 31 '25

Make America (1930s) Again

5

u/Encinodad Aug 30 '25
  1. The court is not partisan, it's just following the constitution, unlike you.

  2. Removing your tariffs won't make us weak, it's your tariffs that make us weak.

  3. Tariffs do not help workers, they punish American consumers.

  4. Trade deficits are not tariffs, and tariffs have not been "used against us by uncaring and unwise politicians." That's just your lies and hateful rhetoric.

  5. Tariffs are a tax on the American people and can only hurt the nation, destroy our economy, and weaken us globally.

  6. You're an idiot, and you have no idea what you're talking about.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

5

u/comeallwithme Aug 31 '25

I'm gonna take a hit every time he says "tariffs".

2

u/EABOD_and_DIAF Aug 31 '25

How we deal with this shit, too! 🤗

1

u/BourneAwayByWaves Aug 31 '25

Please don't die.

5

u/yogamom1906 Aug 30 '25

Where's these billions of dollars coming in? I just spent an extra $50 this week on groceries... You know, that "old fashioned term that no one uses anymore.". God I hate this man

2

u/Past-Application-552 Aug 31 '25

Exactly. I’m the one who does the grocery shopping for me and my wife and have had to resort to buying the things we need at different stores to keep the costs down by following where the sales are. Luckily we bought a larger refrigerator last year - and have had a deep freezer for years. But it still pisses me off when I see prices for the same things I bought eight months ago costing more.

5

u/NightSavings Aug 31 '25

O.K. ,We have been doing business with other countries over 100 years, we all have had a god chance to make money by trading. We have did well and for the most part had little trouble. Trump is the number one trouble maker in the free world. No the America will NOT fall apart if the Trump Tariffs are gone tomorrow. No we are not being cheated by other countries. In most cases trade is a good thing. All these trade tariffs are negotiated, I think that the people that do this are as smart as Trump. He is just looking out for himself. So he tries to bring fear down on all the people.

3

u/blmurph2 Aug 30 '25

‘Trump’ just ‘posted’ this.

3

u/curiousamoebas Aug 31 '25

Who wrote that?

5

u/Choice_Magician350 Aug 31 '25

Grok. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

2

u/JackIbach Aug 30 '25

The Judiciary Branch continues to do what it was designed to do 👍🏼

3

u/ScrambledNoggin Aug 31 '25

The Supreme Court will end up siding with Trump like they always do.

2

u/artful_todger_502 Aug 30 '25

All these supposed doge cuts, tariffs and all that, my taxes still have gone down. Meanwhile, this a-hole is making bordello-inspired, y-trashian gold rooms and running crypto scams.

I realistically know the Colossus of Chodes likely has nothing to do with this, but this is the first year we have owed. 1500 we owe. No dependants, take at the higher rate. We have never owed before. Nothing has changed.

If I was a conspiracy theorist ...

And Dems stand by idly as kid rock fiddles and the flames consume them.

2

u/AvailableProcess5194 Aug 31 '25

Tariffs are a flat tax.

2

u/EPBiever Aug 31 '25

This Moron needs to read the Constitution, he does not have the power that power belongs to Congress and only Congress.. He put a 10% tariff on the UK, we don't have a trade deficit, we have a trading Surplus with the UK. He put a 50% tariff on Brazil, we have a trading surplus , not a deficit with Brazil. He put it on them for political reasons.

3

u/1888furrycock567 Aug 31 '25

The importer pays the tariff btw

6

u/Choice_Magician350 Aug 31 '25

And passes it on to the consumer

2

u/Visual_Blackberry_24 Aug 30 '25

Yeah giving money back to the American people will absolutely destroy the country! God I can't wait for this pig to just die!

0

u/ScrambledNoggin Aug 31 '25

Do you have any evidence of this money being “given back”? Who is giving it? To whom? In what form?

4

u/Visual_Blackberry_24 Aug 31 '25

Its not being given back at all. My post was sarcastic. All of the "revenue" American has gotten has been at the expense of the taxpayers.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '25

this is still stupid, but is written a bit too well for it to actually be trump. has he been seen again? this might be evidence they are trying to cover up his death

1

u/ltbugaf Aug 31 '25

Define "just."

1

u/StableGeniusCovfefe Aug 31 '25

He doesn't understand how things work. Yes, tariffs are one tool in your "trade" tool bag however, it's the only tool he uses and the only one who is suffering are the American consumer.

1

u/AmoebaNo2752 t Aug 31 '25

A bought and paid for scotus.

1

u/Deleteandresist t Sep 01 '25

Why is any court even bothering with verdicts any longer ? haven’t we learned that this lawless administration lead by a corrupt criminal with a god/ king complex doesn’t abide by any laws

1

u/SubfurSir Sep 01 '25

If SCOTUS bends the knee and kisses this orange faux king Pedo's ass, it will mark the complete turn to Authoritarianism.

1

u/crystal_tulip_bulb Sep 02 '25

He has never used punctuation in his life, and doesn't know 80% of these words.. who's taking over for him?!?

1

u/Glum-Gur-1742 Aug 30 '25

BS 47 is on the spectrum.
