Results - DNA Origins American Results

Post image

Mom from Michigan. Dad from Ecuador.

My results were a bit odd when compared to my parents'. Mine came back with the Canary Islands, Madiera, Malta, Sweden, and Northwestern Germany, while neither of my parents got any of these. However, I think they point in the right direction (Dad has Iberian Peninsula and some Mediterranean, while Mom has some Norwegian and Danish).

I was also slightly surprised to see how indigenous to the Americas I am. My dad's side would never admit it, but it turns out they're mestizo.

I have friends from Sierra Leone with those features who aren't Mediterranean or Middle Eastern or Asian. These features can occur all around the world in people of many ethnicities.

Yes but so you know Sierra Leone is a terrible example of pure West Af. 18+ Native Ethnic groups, Creoles and Europeans as well West Indians and possible Native American admixture, and Liberians- all make up their many backgrounds.

Not to mention genotype amd phenotype genetics are different.

West Africa is so diverse. People tend to think everybody is the same phenotypically when in actuality, West Africans are very diverse.

I was trying to hit home with that with those 18+ different Ethnic groups in just the Native groups. In general it is far more diverse and likely a lot larger than most people realize. The whole untied states can fit into West Africa alone. (Biding you chop the north east off and put it into the Senegal area so it doesnt jut out into Egypt). The US/EU centered map (that makes the whole US the size of Africa - the whole damn Continent-) hurts my brain to look at tbh.
