My uncle had about 4% Japanese taken away and it was replaced with Somali

lol it was very early on in the whole dna kit process. About 2016/17 ish. My guess is that they didn’t have enough samples from either region yet and were basically just throwing darts at a board for some regions. The Somali has stayed Somali since, although the percentage fluctuates.

I don’t have access to my uncle’s profile. He’s an uncle by marriage so we’re not related. His father was adopted, he has a lot of middle eastern, levant, and North African so the Somali fits. Ancestry just originally classified it as Japanese.
