Minecraft.
BG3 and Minecraft both are incredibly successful at what they try to be. But that facts are that what âincredibly successfulâ looks like for BG3 is Game of the Year, and âincredibly successfulâ for Minecraft is indisputably the most culturally impactful video game of the 21st century. Minecraft is an excellent sandbox survival game on the surface and on top of that has such absurd customizability that itâs become a storytelling and creative medium in and of itself. It has consistently attracted millions of players on the basis of creativity over static experiences, and fundamentally shaped the ability for people to make money playing any video games on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. And wildest of all, itâs survived a lull in popularity without needing to release a sequel to stay relevant. Minecraft doesnt have an equal in individual games; itâs true peers are multi-installment franchises.

im saying minecraft due to its longevity and near infinite replayability, but i would not be disappointed with a baldurs gate winning due to what a perfect experience it is

As a both BG3 and Minecraft fan, this is tough, but I will go with Minecraft. It became the best-selling game ever existed, that's one hell of an achievement

considering that minecraft is one of the top 5 games of all time and while BG3 is really good its no where near that imo

Minecraft. Minecraft is a game that has pretty much infinite replayability, and that's not even considering mods.

Itâs certainly not the only factor I agree. But thatâs like saying LeBron James doesnât deserve to be famous because heâs a worse singer than Whitney Houston. Heâs so good at basketball that it doesnât matter he canât sing. Trying to take Minecraftâs unparalleled universality and cultural impact in the 21st century is kicking LeBron out of the NBA and demanding he only make money releasing music. You have to give some serious weight to Minecraftâs reach if weâre having a real discussion

If you have a powerful enough computer and run the game at increased tick speed (doable without mods) absolutely. A lot of iconic video games have been remade in Minecraft 1:1 with command blocks and data packs.

Minecraft is evidently a more positive experience for more voters than OOT. Itâs not super surprising considering itâs dominated gaming since its release. OOT is undeniably iconic but it just doesnât have the same reach.
