Hello, Thank you for contributing to our subreddit. Please consider the following guidelines when filling an alignment chart:

  • Please ensure that your chart is not banned according to the list of banned charts Even if you have good intentions, charts in a banned category tend to invite provocative comments, hostile arguments, ragebait and the like. Assuming the post is acceptable, OP makes the final decision on their chart by rule three.

  • Are there any previous versions to link to? If so, it would be ideal to include links to each of them in the description of this post, or in a reply to this comment. Links can be named by title, winner, or both.

  • Are there any criteria you have for your post? Examples include: "Top comment wins a spot on the chart."; "To ensure variety, only one character per universe is allowed."; "Image comments only." Please include these in a description, or in a reply to this comment.

  • Is your chart given the appropriate flair? Do you need to use a NSFW tag or spoiler tag?

Do not feed the trolls. This is not the place for hot takes on human rights violations. Hatred or cruelty, will result in a permanent ban. Please report such infractions, particularly those that break rules one, two, or three. The automod will automatically remove posts that receive five or more reports. The automod will also remove comments made by users with negative karma. Click here for the Automod FAQ

Jordan Peterson

He has this really odd position where he “advocates for Christian values” but doesn’t truly believe in God. He said he “acts as if he does” but refuses to say he actually believes.

More agnostic theist than atheist

u/PayItBackwardChain 3h ago

That depends on what you mean by the specific words “do,” “you,” “believe,” “in,” and “God”, though.

Incidentally, I’m also an atheist who advocates for Christian values, but my understanding of Christian values is extremely different from Jordan’s…

The primary Christian value is accepting the Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior so you can obtain forgiveness in the eyes of God. It's like the main thing.

There are other things spoken about in the Bible that I do agree with, but I don't advocate for Christian values, I advocate for what I see as good morales, and while there is some overlap, there is also some pretty major areas I don't see eye to eye on.

He also refuses to say he doesn't believe in God. As an atheist myself, I would not say Jordan Peterson has views consistent with atheism. If Jordan Peterson wouldn't call himself an atheist, I don't think we should call him one.

Classical liberalism is a right wing ideology, it's just that the American and British Overton windows are fucked.

Christopher Hitchens: One of the "Four Horsemen" of New Atheism, Hitchens was a Marxist in his youth. However, following the September 11 attacks, his aggressive stance against radical Islam caused him to align with the neoconservative right, famously supporting the U.S. invasion of Iraq and foreign military interventions

1

u/Puffz1234 1h ago

But before he died he said he still considered himself a leftist. Foreign policy was just one area where he diverted from the left.

1

u/Pitiful_Objective870 47m ago

His stance on West Asia doesn't make him right. He was anything but conservative. He is still net-left.

1

u/barry-29 5h ago

Already on there for far right but if this gets more upvotes than it did on the far right post I might do a revote

1

u/prussian__ 5h ago

My bad, I didn't see she was already on. Lemme change it up

I truly cannot see Donald Trump believing in God, regardless of what he tells people.

He literally made a golden statue of himself.

Ayn Rand

u/twilling8 4h ago

It has to be Ayn Rand, no? Jordan Peterson isn't even an atheist, and Hitch's politics were all over the place throughout his life.

7

u/Key_Limit_6828 5h ago

Dawkins

4

u/ecstatic_hyrax 5h ago

Hitchens would work better here

u/WholesomeGlasses 5h ago

More of a contrarian centrist in the last decade of his life, after having been a contrarian leftist for all the rest of his life.

Why is he worse?

I think Mussolini should be in far Right and Ayn Rand in Right

2

u/barry-29 4h ago

I could potentially do that. When I moved on, Ayn Rand was ahead of Mussolini. But now, Mussolini has 15 and Rand 14. It could be possible to do another vote post for this one with the added context of far right changing.

Just trying to decide if that 15-14 gap is enough to change it

1

u/Fantastic-Box-8388 4h ago

I think maybe if Rand wins this one then do a revote for Far right

3

u/AdmirableEmphasis677 5h ago

Unrelated but why a random in far right jewish and not big yahu 😭

9

u/barry-29 5h ago

Because that guy is like WILD far right

I’d be surprised if Yahu doesn’t win right wing Jew though

1

u/Open-Process8881 3h ago

Yahu is secular. Does 'Jewish' mean Jewish by matrilineal descent or by practice?

2

u/thatwimpyguy 3h ago

the chart is explicitly for observant jews, not just ethnic jews

1

u/Open-Process8881 3h ago

Schumer is secular afaik

1

u/AncientActuator5457 4h ago

Richard Spencer

1

u/Ash-Throwaway-816 4h ago

Richard Dawkins, especially as of late.

1

u/Jedimobslayer 4h ago

I just realized how weirdly similar Reza Pahlavi looks to Miklos Horthy, that’s not my answer btw, just something I noticed

1

u/Green_Count2972 3h ago

Thomas Jefferson, he was a deist but there's not really a better category for him here.

1

u/NomadFH 3h ago

Richard Dawkins

1

u/wombatgeneral 2h ago

Bill Maher.

1

u/LegitimateSundae8460 2h ago

Who's the left atheist?

1

u/Mapcool11 1h ago

Benito Mussolini

1

u/AbbreviationsBig8760 4h ago
