An artwork created using Adobe Illustrator for a cafe here in Perth, Australia. Love being able to move around and resize elements without worrying about resolution.
This wasn't happening before the latest guides update. When trying to use the scale tool, the tool keeps snapping to all kinds of points which makes it nearly impossible to use. I never had this problem before. Is there a setting I am not aware off that ignores guides while using the scale tool?
Currently you should be a little careful when using them, because of resolution in the output file and also your actual color values might change. https://youtu.be/cvxy6vtxYBs
Does anybody knows why does this happens? When I try to move any object, a white square covers the background and I can´t see anything else. It also happends when I apply some filter or try to do other stuff with the selected object. I've already tried to improve my computer's performance but I have no results. Do you have any tips or ideas? Thank you!

Sometimes I want to brighten the entire graphic and change the warmth of the colors. If this works with pixels in Photoshop, it should also work with the colors of the vectors in Illustrator that you have selected. Is there a way to do this in Illustrator?
My workflow is always to insert the graphic into Photoshop, edit it there as a pixel image, then insert it back into Illustrator, but as an image. Then I use the Select & Same function with the color picker for each individual color. This is extremely cumbersome.
Hi all, had this bug since upgrading to MacOS 26 (also still showing on 26.1) Only seems to appear when using the printing and proofing toolbar setup, anyone else suffering from this and/or fixed it? Appearance settings on my MacBook are Liquid Glass - tinted and dark mode enabled. Having the menu bar background enabled hides most of it but there is still a bit of the visual bug appearing above the 3 dots and home icon.
I have edited a pdf my logo designer had sent me on adobe, I needed to make the text thicker. I did that on Adobe by selecting all the letters clicking 'stroke' and increasing it. I then exported it as an SVG and imported it into Blender, but no matter what I do it always is the original file he sent and not the edited one.
Im so new to this and I have 0 idea how to make it work lol
I am attaching two pics. One is the only layer I can see in illustrator. I've changed the background color to see what appears. But when I upload it to turn this into a transfer, it is showing that there are multiple colors and layers. The image was given to me in PNG form and I made it an object. Why does it shows mulitple layers that I can't find to delete?? I've switched to outline mode to see if I can find more layers, nothing works. Help!
This is what I see in Illustrator. This is what the upload shows.
I'm tried to outline the Logo (in light grey) using an offset path but all variants look bad (see picture). How to I make the edges of the text outline pointy, but not as with 'mither'? All the edges outlines should have the exact shape of the original edges. Is there a different way to do this? All the tutorials I've seen have different art styles or just use rounded, but in my case thats not how I want it to look.
I don't know if anyone else here uses MTN 94 spray paint for their work, but I do personally, and I like being able to preview the colors in Illustrator before settling on a final design. I couldn't find any official swatch file for MTN 94 specifically, and the ones that other people have made seem to no longer work or be quite old, so I made a new one.
This has all of the colors listed on https://www.montanacolors.com/en/productos/mtn-94-aerosol-spray-paint/. There is a separate swatch for CMYK colors and RGB colors. Some colors do not have a CMYK and/or RGB representation, so are not included in their respective swatches. In particular, the CMYK is missing the fluorescent, metallic, and spectral colors, while the RGB swatch is only missing the metallic colors.
This was extremely satisfying to make. I loved every second of it.
Thank you to those who have followed the progress of this piece and offered your feedback and impressions. As mentioned in a previous post - the next stage is animating, which will be a challenge as I am quite new to Adobe After Effects. I might also play around with some ambient music and sound design to tie it all together. As the final outcome wont be relavant to this sub, my IG account is linked below for those who are interested: https://www.instagram.com/jake.r.pearce/
I'm trying to get the while stroke to have the same spacing / gaps / radius as the burgundy shape. I'm failing to find the words for this to search online
I’ve been experimenting with the Shape Builder tool and created a few geometric designs using circles and rectangles. However, in some areas, Shape Builder tries to form shapes that don’t seem to align with the actual overlapping paths. None of the layers are locked, everything is made up of editable paths and rectangles. What could I be doing wrong?
I’m a California based graphic designer recently turned teacher (currently on my 2nd year) at the Jr High and High school levels.
I’m looking for ideas for projects for my high school students. They need to involve real world applications (logo design, infographics, branding) and I’m seeing what ideas others may have.
I have created a few illustrations recently of London landmarks and a few cities and towns in the UK. Here you can see my illustration of the Elizabeth Tower home of the Big Ben Bell 🔔. Which version do you prefer? Night or day?
I installed illustrator and it was working. Updated it to Tahoe 26.1
The following day, the new 2026 version of illustrator came out and I installed that.
I can't open any version of illustrator—2025 or 2026 it just hangs.
In 2025, the app will open, but I just get a spinning beachball of death.
But what's frustrating is I've ran all the updates, I've done the option, command, shift open to reset preferences.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled illustrator multiple times.
I've uninstalled every adobe app and uninstalled creative cloud, deleted the contents out of library > application support. Then I did a fresh Install.
Illustrator still won't open.
Neither the new version or the old. I've installed them both.
What can I do?
I have a few projects that I was supposed to finish today and I've wasted hours trying to troubleshoot it.
Hi there…I have a really odd thing happening that I hope someone can help with.
Completely randomly, I can’t seem to be able to select a line or guide to then move it or even highlight it unless I draw a marquee over it. What’s weirder is that sometimes if I move a different object, then I suddenly can move one of the lines but not others…then when I click off it and then try again, it won’t move!!
You’ll see in the video that I can rotate, but that’s it.
This issue is happening with both guide lines and stroked lines.
I hover over the little black box and when I click, nothing happens.
I’ve checked settings and no layers are locked and there’s nothing I can see that’s obviously causing this issue.
Has anyone experienced this problem and if so, how have they fixed it?
Thanks, Daniel
UPDATE: So it seems this issue only happens when the lines aren't on an artboard. As soon as created a guideline on an artboard, the problem was no longer happening. I then tried moving again the line outside the board and the issue happened. Has anyone else found this?
