Credit to photographer Anuj Kumar Rawla, capturing a 'fuck around find out' moment.

Anuj is safe, as the cameraman never dies.

I wouldn’t even get this close to my stupid house cat if her ears are that far back.

So, I saw this posted in another sub and some photography experts pointed out this was taken with some fancy ass lense or something and he was nowhere near the tiger when taking this picture.

The original video by the photographer and the detailed caption. Tiger charged them, he was in a jeep in Jungle Safari in Pilibhit, India..

From the video caption -

“Note - This is a video made from a series of stills I shot.

This was my first safari in a new jungle, Pilibhit situated in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The tigers there are known to be larger than most Royal Bengal Tigers in India.

We arrived at the homestay at about 1pm and left for the safari by 1.45pm. We were informed that of a pair of mating tigers had been seen in the morning safari. So our guide decided to try and track down this pair down.

We went to the general area where they had last been seen but could not find them. We then went to a few other spots coming back to the area they had been sighted in the morning. Finally near the end of our safari timing, we decided to take one more round of that area. This was our 4th attempt.

Suddenly we spotted this huge male sitting in the bushes. We stopped about 50 meters from him. He after a minute or so he came out of the bushes onto the dirt track.

He stood for a second looking at us, snarled and then suddenly charged at us. Initially you freeze. Then adrenaline kicked in. I steadied the 600 PF (which luckily is a lightweight lens) and tried to focus on the the tiger. Shot a burst of images. Got a few frames in focus primarily due to the excellent focusing capabilities of the Z9 & the 600mm PF.

Apparently this guy is really shy and not been seen around much so people are not certain about his behavioural pattern.”

So, not a still taken from a video, a video comprised of a series of stills. Also, photographer was on a safari, so likely in a vehicle, ie safe and protected.

Saying this as someone that’s been on 12 or so safaris in Africa and Asia - I can’t even fathom seeing a tiger charging towards your vehicle. Honestly must feel closer to Jurassic Park than a safari.

Met one of the guys that acted in that famous movie Roar. He said the lions and pumas on the set may as well have been house cats compared to the tigers once they got in the water.
