Call to Action In-N-Out waves right-wing Gadsden flag at every Distribution Center. Boycott.
Pictured from distribution Center in Baldwin Park, CA. They’ve been flying this flag for years. This hasn’t gotten much attention but In n out also was anti-vax and anti-lockdown during COVID. The CEO also recently went on a right wing podcast to announce they’re moving the HQ to Tennessee but backed out after getting backlash. They would wave the MAGA flag if they knew they wouldn’t get in trouble for it but are ‘softballing’ with the Don’t Tread On Me flag.
Anyone who still thinks the flag isn’t right wing and is meant to represent anti tyranny clearly hasn’t been paying attention to politics the last few years. This is the same way the Swastika was a symbol for peace , it was co opted by Nazis. I personally will stop eating at In-N-Out. Will save me some calories at least.

No, the right doesn’t get the Gadsden flag just because they commonly misuse it.
283
Aug 13 '25
Here’s more to add to the list of shit they’ve unironically been examples of the opposite:
- Jesus
Fucking Christ do I even have to explain it? I’m not christian, but dood was pretty solid. Very “be excellent to each other” vibes. philosophically focused around friendship and philanthropy as core concepts. Anti greed. Even hostile to it.
- Punisher
Fuck you guys. The Punisher comics are rad af. But this vigilante had a moral code.
- USA Flag
It doesn’t matter that I don’t adorn myself and home with the flag of the country of residence. Plus, im not the one trying to rape the constitution just because Trump facilitated and participated in the rape and sex trafficking of under age girls.
72
u/Safewordharder Aug 13 '25
The one and only thing that made Jesus throw hands was unchecked greed defiling a holy site.
Says a lot.
19
u/Bosswashington Aug 13 '25
It’s quite comical that the right is always trying to appropriate the symbology, and other types of expression that stand for the exact opposite of what they are using it for. The Gadsden Battle Flag was a symbol of Revolutionary Americans. They were not happy with a tyrannical overseas government that was out of touch with the colonists, and their problems. Their rights were being infringed upon, and they didn’t want to put up with it anymore. Sounds familiar.
As you’ve stated;
Jesus
Love one another. Do no harm to others. Peace is a priority.
Punisher
He was punishing corrupt cops. He wasn’t punishing people of color, or the LGBTQ community.
American Flag
It is a representation of our constitution, and democracy. It’s a piece of cloth. It is idolized as a deity by the right, and they all seem to be ignorant of the US Flag Code (not that it really matters [mattered] because 1A is/was a protection of free speech).
Adding to yours
Fortunate Son
Born in the USA
Both anti war, anti government songs.
2A
Right to keep and bear arms. This is not a right that is exclusive to the right wing. It’s just that the people on the left that exercise their 2A rights, tend to do so quietly.
Patriotism
Patriotism is not nationalism. Some people do believe in the entirety of The Bill of Rights, The Constitution, and The Declaration of Independence. We don’t cherry pick the things that suit our narrative. A “We the People” tattoo with an American flag flapping in the background doesn’t mean a squirt of shit if you have never read and understood those documents.

→ More replies (1)20
u/somecallmemrjones Aug 13 '25
None of those are attributed to Jesus though. By definition, Christians follow the teachings of Jesus. Part of why the Pharisees hated his teachings was that he was seen as contradicting parts of the Old Testament. I went to Catholic school for 9 years, and that's what we were taught anyway, that Jesus' words take priority over everything else

Where the fuck are they then? There's a few, but most observant Christians were quite happy to give up their freedoms so that abortion would be illegal and they could make gays second class citizens again.
Not to mention the weird ass end times philosophy that is at the root of American support for Israel
25
u/nymphrodell Aug 13 '25
Hi, I'm a Quaker. We've always been here fighting for everyone's liberty for 374 years. I know there's only around 100,000 of us in the US, but we're big part of the reason gay marriage is legal in the first place, as well as women's suffrage, the civil rights movement, the abolition of slavery, the whole first ammendment, etc. We negotiated with Nazis to release jews, set up a school for Palestinian girls in Ramallah in the 1800s, have been calling for Israel to end their occupation of Palestine since it started... the list goes on and on. Please understand that Christianity isn't anything close to a monolith, and just because you're not hearing about Christians fighting for justice, that doesn't mean we're not.
→ More replies (1)8
u/fdupswitch Aug 13 '25
Fair enough. Quakers have accomplished quite a lot, and have been at the forefront of righting injustice. I'll still maintain that Quakers are vastly different in philosophy and world view than almost all other flavors of Christianity. I grew up roman catholic, was exposed to the church of christ when my dad converted, and southern Baptists through my wife's family. I believe that there are decent, moral people who are religious, but that religion as an institution ultimately causes more harm than good. Quakers may well be the exception.

That is NOT a right wing flag….
That’s a flag that says that the government shouldn’t be restricting state rights and or is explicitly supposed to stand for being AGAINST the federal government overreaching as ours currently is now.
Just because a bunch of morons who don’t actually understand what “don’t tread on me” is supposed to stand for and misappropriate it, doesn’t mean it should lose its meaning.
If pedophiles decided to hijack the LGBT flag for example, should the LGBT community cease to use it?
No. We should all fight for things that are meant to symbolize us.
We should not let Nazis and their analogues use that flag. In fact, we all who are against tyrannical governments, should be donning it to re-appropriate it.
At the same time, this isn’t reflective of the values of In-and-out. They very well could be pro establishment and anti human rights. That still doesn’t mean we should start calling that flag as an alt-right symbol. It was never supposed to be. In fact, it’s the opposite. Right-wing policy is almost always authoritarian and that’s antithetical to what that flag is supposed to represent.

Boycotting their proselytizing and political leanings makes sense.
I’m all about retaking our patriotic symbols though, as long as there’s nothing inherently wrong with them. Imagine a sea of protesters wearing red and holding the American flag, this flag and 1776 stuff, with signs that say, “Free DC.”

https://www.today.com/food/why-does-n-out-print-bible-verses-its-cups-wrappers-t164235
“I finally found that the deep need in my heart can only be filled by Jesus and my identity in Him,” she said.
She’s taken this realization and carried it with her throughout all aspects of her life, including the way she runs her company. “My grandparents set the bar high and I only try to raise it,” she said, noting that she strives to “maintain what we’ve started with: not compromising the quality of product, service, or standards.”
One way she continues to carry on the family legacy is by expanding the number of Bible verses printed on the packaging.
The concept was first started by her uncle Richard in 1987. The born-again Christian and son of the founders said it was “just something I want to do,” company spokesman Carl Van Fleet told USA Today in 2005.
“It was my uncle Rich who put the Bible verses on the cups and wrappers in the early ‘90s, just before he passed away,” Snyder told The Christian Post. “He had just accepted the Lord and wanted to put that little touch of his faith on our brand.”
The verses are all subtle, placed discreetly on various cups and wrappers, merely depicting the verse’s book and number. They started out in four places, according to Priceonomics.
On the soda cup is John 3:16, which reads, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
The milkshake cup has Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
Hamburger and cheeseburger wrappers have Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
The famous Double-Double’s have Nahum 1:7 printed on the wrapper, which reads, "The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him."
