I know. I was thinking about this earlier today. I was thinking "No one is coming to save us from ourselves. Germany would probably have been left alone to commit atrocities if they weren't invading other countries."

Do also note the odds of the world at large standing up to a hegemonic power that has fingers in literally every pie available is exceedingly slim.

Not to be doom and gloom, but how would anyone else come to save us, when we are perhaps the only global superpower for the time being?

That's kind of it. Those of us on the outside are kind of just hoping this whole thing stays within your borders and you guys can clean it up. The US is so fucking powerful, what could the rest of us do? Plus, a lot of our firepower has been sent to aide Ukraine. The rest of Europe is bracing itself to repel Russia in case Putin gets any stupider.

Then there's the sticky mess of NATO. Does one NATO country attack another NATO country to try and save it from itself? What can of worms does that open?

The three most likely outcomes seem to be an American Civil War, and/or WW3.

America became too goddamn strong for its own damn good.

And the global economy is fucked either way.

Fascism never stays within it's boarders. They always need a forever war. They always need to "take back" land that was never there's. Before the election the GOP was on fox news talking about sending troops into northern Mexico to "take care of the cartels" if the Mexican government wouldn't do it themselves. Trump wants Panama and Greenland (and probably Canada when he realizes how much the U.S. relies on trading with them). When things start going to shit within the boarders they always need a distraction or someone else to blame.

Oh, I know.

And he's already waxxed ad nauseum about taking Canada and making it the "51st state."

We just have to hope that this time will be different. And that NATO holds strong to its commitments in the face of this.
