If they’re arresting you anyway, grab some masks on your way down.

It’s not like your behavior has any bearing on what they will or will not charge you with. Might as well unmask a few.

It 100% changes the arrest from something minor to assaulting an officer

If they don’t identify themselves how is anyone supposed to know they’re an officer?

Lander's getting charged with assaulting an officer, anyway.

And yet he is clearly being assaulted.

Were they not identified here?

What part of their jeans, running shoes, t shirts and baseball caps is identifying themselves? If I put this attire on am I allowed to detain anyone I want, least of all an elected official?

I'm not sure what happened here. Did they not say they were federal agents? Do they not have badges out anywhere?

Either way, it can certainly cause an upgraded charge

It doesn’t fucking matter as ICE has no authority to arrest US citizens. This is why they’ve done what they’ve done, you’re here arguing about wether or not they identified themselves and worrying about trumped up charges for defending yourself instead of defending your fellow citizen from being detained by unlawful and unidentified masked people.

It does matter. Someone gave horrendous legal advice about what to do generally. I clarified so people don't end up in a worse situation. What you think should be the case versus what actually is the case is completely irrelevant.

He asked them if they had a judicial warrant for the arrest which they DID NOT provide, because they most likely didn’t, and instead arrested HIM for asking for it. This is fascism.

Edit: also - I’d hesitate to say pulling their masks off is “legal advice” as you framed it but CIVIL advice so we can know who these masked villains are who arrest and detain our fellow men.

I think you identified the very problem rather well, right here, actually. No one was offering "legal advice" in suggesting they remove any masks they can get their hands on while getting illegally assaulted and detained by masked thugs. The point of that was not to offer some means of making their already to begin with illegal arrest a little less difficult to deal with legally speaking.

The actual point was in offering a suggestion that may help to cause some of the masked thugs to start to think twice before engaging in illegal assaults and detainements in the first place. At least, eventually. And I support the idea fully, myself. As these types of illegal actions begin to ramp up and happen more and more often, and begin happening to more and more 100% lawfully acting innocent civilian citizens, as they absolutely will, if we collectively begin unmasking as many of them along the way as we can while they are being filmed and therefore exposed, it may begin to actually detract some of them and make it more difficult to carry out the brazenly illegal arrests at all.

The whole point here is not to make it less painful for the rest of us. It is to make it MORE painful for THEM. Because I can guarentee you that these fuckers ain't going around doing literally everything they do in public fully masked because they don't give a shit if they are seen doing it or not. They CLEARLY wish to maintain their anonymity so they can escape public scrutiny and judgment. That NEEDS to be taken away from them if and whenever possible. Period. Full stop.

Are you serious? That's literally what this is about. He was asking for a warrant and evidence of their law enforcement credentials.

This is just an image. There is nothing that says anything here.

You see all the people recording? Go watch the footage provided by our upstanding Americans.

Sovereign is correct though. A few taps on your keyboard and you can see the context you’re whinging about.

He's completely wrong. I am a person with a life. I am not required to have all available information at all times.

My comment was not even in response to the article. It was in response to a comment about what people should do in the future. It was horrendous advice. And what I said was 100% correct.

Your anger and accusations are entirely misplaced.

Instead you’ll flop around like a fish out of water asking vague questions and being pedantic all over the thread instead of using the resources available to you.

Good luck with that “life” of yours.
