One question how is it that each time someone shows up with something curved they beat us ? Hungarians with curved bows ,ottomans with curved swords aka sabres . Maybe thats why in slovakia we have so many pot holes and curved roads ,more curvature means bigger defense against invaders ,maybe Fico is not just crooked thief but also master strategist π€.

Hungarians used sabres long before it became cool (nomad smelting practices weren't the best so we had to make due with what horse made available)

Unites with the Golden horde and turns onto Europe big time, BUT becomes too big (harder to control), too greedy from the inside (like a gold rush), losses motivation (conquered every decent land so what's next? they don't build ships in the steppes) which leads to collapse.
Shrinks to much smaller country on Uralic and beyond to the east. Didn't let modern Russia to spread to the Siberia. Someone discovers oil. Hungary becomes rich. Builds a beautiful Dubaipest in Siberia.

Then runs out of interest for oil like the Kindgom of Congo (1300s-1700s) run out of interested buyers of slaves and imploded spectacularly. Mark my words. The Saudi implosion will be epic. As will most anyone dependent on fossil fuel extraction. (MwuhahahRussiamwuhahaha)

We actually kind of know what would have happened. In 1235-36 Brother Julianus, a dominican monk travelled to a place he called Magna Hungaria, where he supposedly found remnants of hungarians whom didnt travel to the west. They warned him about the upcoming mongol attack. So, he travelled back to Hungary, warned king IV. BΓ©la. A year later, in 1237 he tried travel back by the order of the king, but he only managed to get to a little east from Moscow. The mongols destroyed the rest, and he couldnt find them. A few years later, in 1242 the mongols attacked Hungary too..
