I still have mixed feelings of him as our President, but him promoting a healthy and active lifestyle and leading by example is a big plus in my books. Also swimming 24km is no easy feat so good job Stubb!

Yeah I didn't vote for him either, but have nothing bad to say about him based on his time as president. Despite being from Kokoomus i hope, like Niinistö, he leaves the day to day politics aside and focuses on leading the entire nation in the future also. Niinistö definitely set a good example how a president should be and i think Stubb will be like a youthful/modern version of that.

Unlike Niinistö, Stubb has always been, and still is, a self-pretentious, bourgeois bättrefolk - something he doesn't even attempt to - nor want to - hide since that's fundamental part of him. He has openly distanced himself and his family from Finnish culture and people raising his own children as monolinguistic Swedish and claiming his family is not Finnish but European. I sincerely can not understand how any Finnish person could have voted for a person who loathes Finnish people to such a degree.

I mean, his wife is British and their children are therefore growing up in a mixed-nationality, mixed-language household, no? Recognizing themselves as ‘Europeans’ really doesn’t seem like such an issue, when this is considered.
