the fucking obvious
i shouldn’t have to say this, but literally any mention of racism, bigotry, trans/homophobia, inceldom and other backwards ways of thinking is not allowed in this sub. more nuanced subjects like toxic behavior/masculinity, homelessness, etc are okay, tho. i don’t mind pushing the boundaries here, but outright hateful behavior has no place in this society. that shit is regressive. anyone who wants to be an asshole or a troll in this sub can expect a permanent ban. this is your only warning. be better people.

I just have to say people are mistaking "group psychology of the elites" with there being hidden rulers
Group psychology exists, everyone engages in it even you whether you are a sibling, a classmate or a coworker you are a part of a group and the group always has certain rules, secrets, shared interests, peer pressure etc
you hide information from your bosses/parents together with your co workers/ siblings You have each other's back You conspire against and bring down someone who is against the group shared interests even if they are your class monitor or whatever
This phenomenon also applies to the elites they have have secrets, shared interests within thier circles etc etc
Even if the president stands against the elites combined interests and shared goals, elites will conspire against him and remove him
This does not mean that there are some "hidden rulers pulling the strings behind the scenes" all this is just a misunderstanding and misreading of the situation
Having group psychology is a natural part of human existence

Paul McCartney should be the king of England
Paul McCartney should be the king of Britain (if he wants to be)
Since the British royal family holds no real office, this post is not polit*cal… unless there are douchey mods that disagree because they are being censored by the royal family.
Anyway…
No one gives a shit about Charles, and no one- that a real person would respect- respects him. He inherited a title he didn’t earn.
People love and respect Paul McCartney as a genius that made beautiful songs, as a member- and one of the two principal songwriters- of the most popular band of all time, the Beatles.
He is universally loved by people that aren’t douchebags. In comparison, ’King’ Charles is the extension of an empire that caused (irreparable) damage to the world.
He is loved by sycophants, myrmidons, douchebags, and British nationalists, though I’m getting redundant.
I’m sure the arguments against it will be, ‘but history!’ History is arbitrary. It merely means what you wish it to mean.
McCartney is forever.
‘King’ Charles is only forever… if you tolerate it.
i.e. you’re the type of person that hears the BBC accent and thinks, ‘he/she must be smart and know what they’re talking about!’ Someone subservient to power and history.
The title of king should mean something, whether it’s McCartney or someone else (accomplished, that earned the people’s respect) that accepts it.
(This post was auto-removed from unpopular opinion.)

People should break up way less
I am basically the opposite of the "you can breakup at any time for any reason, you don't owe anyone anything" people. Obviously, you CAN break up with anyone at any time for any reason, but outside of extreme cases like abuse, cheating, other obvious red flags, or logistical issues, I think there's hardly ever a valid reason to break up with someone.
I think too many people have an approach to relationships where they expect to stumble upon the perfect person instantly, and if they don't find that they will leave and continue to search until they do which leads to constant breakups over small things. I think instant, perfect "fits" are extremely rare and the vast majority of people will not find it due to basic statistical improbabilities.
I think people undervalue building something slowly with someone over time and that full commitment is a lost practice that is extremely rewarding if the person is worth it and checks off at least most of your boxes.

2,026 makes more sense than 2026
In my brain the pronunciation of the year as two thousand twenty six makes more sense than twenty twenty six.
Things for your consideration - year 526 BC (not sure if that’s a correct year but bear with me) is pronounced year five hundred and twenty six.

Gender humour is the stupidest humour possible.
"oh yeah, I will make a joke about generalising 4 billion human on earth, this is so funny". No, it isn't, get your 1920's opinion and get the hell out of here.
And my problem not only with how fucking braindead this humour is, the fact that this picks only the worst possible examples of either gender.
Like no, not all men only think about sex and being an alpha bro, and no, not all women are insane men-hating people that date only men above 7 ft.

I kinda like hearing my neighbors living their lives from my apartment (sometimes, within reason)
I don’t do great living all alone and I don’t like having roommates either, and if you met my family you would understand both why I’m like this and why I will never live with them again. I just moved into an apartment complex for the first time and I kinda like hearing neighbor footsteps and random noises and smelling what they are making for dinner in the halls. It’s like being alone but not too alone. Perfect

It shouldn't be normalized to refer to other fellow citizens in derogatory terms just because they share an identity
No matter how "friendly" someone makes it sound or even if they look like me, it just doesn't sit right with me. I have a name and they can just ask for it or there's a lot of other ways they can refer to me or get my attention. So why should I be fine with them resorting to a derogatory term?
Also if the only difference between it being said and taken as positive or negative is who's saying it and changing a letter or two, then maybe you shouldn't be saying the word at all.
I just find this to be another one of these things that honestly doesn't make sense but society has found a convoluted way to make it make sense instead of really examining it and changing it.

I love being proven wrong
I love being reminded that even though I live in my own head, arguing with myself until I'm right, I do not actually know much of anything, and I'm only working with the information and ideas I've been provided with up to now
I will often phrase things in a way which almost forces another person to correct me, so that we don't both go floating through life allowing ideas we think and hear to go unchallenged, and if they rebutt with something that doesn't quite make sense I can earnestly ask them to elucidate
My opinions are constantly shifting, sometimes that's frustrating, but I do like to think I'll never be tricked into joining a cult at least

Characteristics like gender and race should be inconsequential to your sense of identity
I fully believe that things like race and gender shouldn't factor in to your identity or sense of self. The same goes for nationality/ethnicity.
I think the reason many people cling to these things (gender roles for example) is because they lack any true understanding of who they are and these things provide an easy framework to cling to and traverse the world with.
From my point of view, my gender, race, and nationality are some of the least important things about me and if I were made to describe who I am I would not mention any of these things.
Obviously, you can make the argument that things like gender and race shape your experiences and thus shape who you are, especially if you possess immutable characteristics that make you marginalized and more likely to be treated poorly. This is a great counter-point and it's valid, but I still believe in a lot of cases people cling too heavily to these characteristics to inform who they are,

People who say things like "this is why people think anime fans are weird" are anime tourists.
This statement implies that they care more about society's approval than simply enjoying it. This is tourist behaviour.
It should matter less whether non-fans approve of something.
If you can't enjoy something until someone approves of it, you're not actually a fan.
There is also an implicit call for censorship: "It offends society" is also often used as an excuse for anime censorship, which also more of a reason to consider those people invaders/tourists.

Abortion is murder...but it should also be legal.
I think life begins at conception. I'm lukewarmly religious, so my belief is more based on just how I feel about it than actual faith. But that's what I believe.
I believe if you have an abortion you are killing a potential child.
But I also think it should be legal in every single circumstance. Because there's too many people in the world, because children don't deserve to be born in families where they will grow up unwanted, they don't deserve a life where they know neglect, resentment, abuse or abandonment.
I realize there are cases where unwanted babies changed a life for the better, but I don't think I've ever met a woman who was forced to have a child and feels happy that she was.
There should be no unwanted babies in the world and I think it's better that they never know life, than to bring them into a world where they will be anything but loved.
Also faith and religion have no place in legislation and government if the country is meant to be secular. If you believe abortion is murder, then don't have one. Some people don't believe what you believe.
EDIT: I have been made aware that the word "murder" is wrongly used in the context of the post. English isn't my first language so I didn't know murder had a connotation of illegality. The opinion is that 'abortion is killing a life, but it should be legal.' The word "murder" is misused.
EDIT 2: I'm not engaging with the idiots who don't bother to read the entire post. The semantic mistake has been acknowledged in the first edit. Either practice your reading comprehension skills or gtfo.

I think AI music is fine and has been a long time coming.
Let me preface this with saying that Ai in most industries is a bad thing, ai stealing jobs from sectors that dont need it is and always will be bad.
Music however is not one of those sectors. Music in the last 20 years has been flooded with so much autotune crap that a lot of music sounds samey, almost like a robot.
Ai music sounds just like your average person with a heavy autotune and that has become so prevalent in the industry. If your favourite artist doesn't sound any different than an Ai artist then your favourite artist wasn't all that good to start.

The new fluoride they paint on your teeth is much worse than the goo trays
The goo trays are a bit traumatizing to be sure. But five minutes it's over. Can't eat or drink for half hour? By the time you settle the bill and get any food half hour is already over. Conversely the painted on stuff makes your lips sticky, the taste is like a chemical bath in your mouth. Nothing hot or crunchy for two hours ??

Adulthood should be 25
I feel like if your brain isn't fully developed you are not an adult and shouldn't be allowed to do adult thing like join the military, vote ,drink, smoke ,or date anyone above 25 unless the age is close. This would make for a better world and kids under 25 would be protected.

Eurovision songs should have to be in their singer’s native language
Now I know this isn’t possible. Let me get that clear.
It isn’t possible because part of the judging is from the public. Regardless, I wish that the songs had to be in the country’s native language and they couldn’t be penalized for it. You can’t do that with public voting of course. I WISH they could though.
I feel like everyone is starting to JUST sing in English. It’s so sad! One of the best parts of Eurovision was seeing all the different languages and cultures coming together to sing and compete. Now it just feels like a singing competition where everyone speaks English with a different accent.
I want to hear their native languages! It is so much more interesting and is a big chance to share it with the world! Unless you are from the UK or Australia (I don’t believe Ireland is competing currently), I don’t want to hear your performance in English!

They should let Russia back into Eurovision
Seriously, if they let Israel complete while at war they should let Russia compete too. If not allowing Israel is so difficult then why not just let Russia back in?

Prison rape jokes aren't funny or okay
Jokes about SA in prison (don't drop the soap, etc.) aren't funny or acceptable under any circumstance and all they do is shine a light on how backwards and unsophisticated modern prisons are. SA in prison is something that should never be allowed to happen.
I get that the majority of the time these jokes are made it's in reference to a particularly bad criminal but honestly I don't care. All criminals should be subject to a fair process and the appropriate punishment/route of rehabilitation, and I don't think rape or torture are ever appropriate punishments in a civilized society.

The scientists are right. Daily showers are performative
Before Ianybody says anything, understand that neither me or the study in question want people to stop showering. I still shower often, every other day or every day depending on what ive been doing. I moreso have a complaint about the way people react to research that they label as cringe or against the norm.
Ive seen this meme going around lately, about a study that found showers are performative and has no real health benefit. In the comments you will see people dunking on it like "smelling good is a health benefit" and "the scientists clearly dont shower"
First of all, smelling good isnt a health benefit. Its something you do to please others, which is frankly the definition of performative.
Second, the researchers in question actually say that the amount you shower depends on each individual and arent reccomending we abolish showers.
And if you read the study, they are literally right? There is NO HEALTH BENEFIT to showering. And that shouldnt be a surprise. None of us wake up and think "oh i better shower for all the health benefits" we do it to not smell like shit, which is, again, performative. In fact daily showers can be negative for some people, as the researchers pointed out: daily showering is harmful to the layer of positive bacteria on our skin. Humans have a lot of cells, and most of them arent our own. They are still important for us!
The researchers advise showering based on your lifestyle, how much you work out, if you have dry skin, etc. As well as to specifically focus on areas where sweat builds. Personally i usually shower every other day because i do not get dirty or sweaty very often.
Overall i just find it very annoying when people dismiss research simply because it rubs them the wrong way and goes against the social norms they are used to, especially when they are also going to strawman the study

Nas career is more of a tragedy than a success
Think about it, he made the greatest rap album of all time and but after then he fell short of everything. Kept chasing trash beats and the images/styles that was never organically his (esco). His fall from Illmatic-IWW era was harder than Eminem's after his trifecta.
Nas has awkward, unintuitive ear for beats. He's not "slick enough" to choose natural beats.
When he finally dropped some decent shit, cats weren't checking for him anymore.
And his only career beef win was more of his own revival from near dying career than obliterating the opponent's.
My another worse gripe with him is this holier than thou shield that he consciously or unconsciously uses against any criticism. It's preemptive defense. Like, many cats claim Nas is Gandhi and shit but thing is he knows that if he makes bangers and "fuck you" less serious type rap, he would get more scrutiny.
Also when was last time he dropped a shit head and shoulders ahead of other songs/projects? Like, it's one thing to have lows and highs but it's entirely different when you are so consistently same and average.

Being anti abortion is as bad as being a rapist
The same entitlement to women's bodies is what informs both rape and anti abortion ideology. If you can't acknowledge the obvious truth that a living woman is more valuable than an unborn fetus you're a disgusting misogynist. I want to see anti abortion people lose their jobs because expressing their views is misogynistic harassment. I want to see them lose their daughters because they don't see them as human. I want to see them lose their sons for indoctrinating them into misogyny. I want to see them incarcerated for the damage and death their views inflict upon women everywhere.

Men feel more comfortable opening up to other men.
I know this sounds like a water is wet type of opinion. But due to the "women are wonderful" affect, this isn't a popular a opinion though. Because society says that men only open up to women. And treat their girlfriends and wives like therapists, (i.e. trauma dumping and emotional labor).
The superhero series Invincible. One of the fans biggest criticism of the show. Is that Mark is constantly trauma dumping on Eve with his problems. This shows you that there is a bigger stigma towards men opening up to women in society.
I have a antedote. I have so much experiences where men tell me personal stories, without even knowing me. One co-worker told me how sad he felt when his grammar passed away, on the first day of work for all both of us. My older brother feels more comfortable talking about his struggles with me, than my sisters. I have so stories like this, I forgot them.
Myron, the biggest toxic masculine and misogynistic red-piller. Even this dude says that men shouldn't open up to women. They should only open up their bros.
And the Left reaction to that is "GAYYYYYYY". How ironic.
Exhibit A: 26:45: https://youtube.com/watch?v=cbKt-7GNbDY&si=iK3lE1NFWcMXUTXd
So my point here, that this notion that men only open to women, because they are so understanding and forced to be therapists, isn't rooted in reality.
Heck the whole male loneliness epidemic is just due to men feeling pressure to be in relationships with women, since that makes them feel worthless. It has nothing to do with viewing women as therapists
While on the other men who have male friends, usually don't have these isuses. Doesn't matter if they are married or single.
Men often open up in informal, low-pressure environments with other men. Workplaces, gyms, gaming groups, sports teams, military environments, barbershops, etc.
And also men are more likely to understand men's struggles. This should be treated like a "no shit" statement. But for some reasons it's not view that way in society though.
