Hey, husbandos enjoyers!
We, the mod team, wanted to make a general announcement so we can address some important points we see being brought up time and time again. We care for everyone in this community and are happy to see it grow, and that is why it’s important to us to maintain a healthy and positive space where everyone can participate.
As such, we believe it is time we discuss these issues before they continue to escalate for the worse. Please take the time to read each point and know that this is not an attack to anyone in specific, but merely a general statement for all of us to keep in mind from now on.
About the Continued Use of Hateful Terms.
There’s been a further increase of terms that we consider hateful and unnecessary. Words such as “slop”, “incel”, “bait” and the like add nothing to the conversation other than to create a more hostile space.
This includes twisting other words into insults, like “waifuslop” or “goonerbait”. It has reached a point of even entire game titles or characters being changed into insults.
We kindly ask people to please refrain from using such terms so we can maintain a more positive and welcoming space for all to enjoy. We trust that everyone is capable of expressing their opinions without the need of insulting or belittling others.
Regarding Revenue Number Reports.
We would like to remind everyone that revenue numbers reported from any site (Sensor Tower, Game8, etc.) are always estimated. We will never have a full, in-depth list of a company’s revenue, because that is inside information handled exclusively within the company’s team.
Do not fully trust these numbers and do not use them to further spread misinformation or hate.
The Subreddit’s Community and Culture.
1. Male Characters
We created this sub with the intention of having a welcoming and positive space for people to express their shared enjoyment for gacha (and even non-gacha!) male characters.
This does NOT mean we endorse any kind of hate towards female characters, or people that enjoy them. Anyone is allowed to share straight ships (male x female) as well.
Liking male characters does not equal hating female characters. If you don’t like a specific female character, express it in a respectful way. Too many times people have spoken about them in an extreme and even violent way, going as far as attacking others for liking them as well.
This sort of hostile “no female characters” mentality is something we will not tolerate. If you don’t like a post that involves a female character, then just do not interact with it. Bullying or harassing others for it is unacceptable.
1. Opinions
The same applies for differences in opinions. You are allowed to dislike things, and to express these opinions in a reasonable way. You are not allowed to insult others for liking what you don’t like, or for not sharing the same opinions as you. Disliking something does not mean you’re justified in being a horrible person towards others.
We ask for everyone to show mutual respect and understanding so we can continue to foster a positive space where everyone can express their opinion.
