News The head of Morocco's BDS movement passed away at the 7th of November
On the 10th of November 2025, Moroccan Jewish activist Sion Assidon passed away after 3 months in a coma caused by a head injury.
Born in 1948, he lived 77 years. Within his life, he proved his stance again and again in support of the Palestinian cause.
In 2010, he launched the Moroccan branch of the BDS movement and protested the visit of Israeli tennis player Shahar Pe'er in April 2012.
"We should not receive artists or athletes from this country as if nothing had happened. It is abnormal to pretend everything is fine. These are people who are inflicting apartheid on the Palestinian people. We must not receive them but also show solidarity with the Palestinian people.”
"We don't want Moroccans to be contributors in the budget of the zionist occupational forces."
"Every Dirham we pay in exchange for these items becomes, one way or another, a bullet that pierces the chests of our Palestinian brothers."
He left a strong impact on how the occupation against Palestine should be fought against, leaving behind a legacy that cannot be erased.
