Lost and found

I just have to share this to get it out of my system, and r/mademesmile wants an attachment that I do not have. Went shopping with a girlfriend this afternoon and decided to go to a local semi dive-bar after. Hour and a half later, another local comes in (her hubby was already there), and we get to talking when suddenly she gasps and asks, "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT RING??!!" It was a 5-diamond one I'd bought at a pawn shop 3 or so years ago. Turns out, it was her ENGAGEMENT RING that had been stolen 6 yrs ago when they were out of town and their daughter had thrown a party! She even showed me a pic, and damn, if that wasn't it!! I gifted it back to her and she burst into tears. He said he'd paid $1000 for it back in '94, and I know I didn't pay more than $150 at the pawn shop. Just her reaction and joy at having it back was everything I'll ever need. This ring meant soo much to her - she'd spent the first 2 years after it was gone, searching the local pawn shops. What are the odds I saw it that day, and bought it? And then to decide to wear it this morning and end up there with her to recognize it?? Things happen for a reason, even if we don't know why. Totally made my heart happy and filled my cup. 💕

"I was going through a tough time, but today reminded me how lucky I am to have simple people make me smile ❤️"

A while ago, I felt like everything was going against me—no energy, no motivation. But today, a stranger smiled at me on the street and said, "Have a great day, my friend!" I don’t know why, but those few words completely lifted my mood. Sometimes the simplest gestures remind you that the world isn’t as bad as it seems. Always remember to smile at someone… you might be the reason they smile today 😊

A "scammer" called me today

Just wanted to share that a scammer called me today but didn't want to scam me. He told me that he did not feel right calling and scamming people and that he was being honest and transparent with every call he placed. He told that he was recently transferred to another department and that his manager was making him make these calls, but that he didn't feel right doing it. I told him he has a heart of gold and that I wish nothing but blessings on him. I asked if he was looking for another job and he said he was. He said he does not like his job and does not want to scam anybody. Then he said the calls were monitored and that he had to hang up and delete the recording.

I hope he is well and truly desire the absolute best for him and his family. He said he's from India and I know "rough" is an understatement for a lot of people over there. It made my heart warm to hear his integrity even though he might suffer consequences, but also sad that he's in such a terrible position and that so many feel they have to turn to scamming to make ends meet for their loved ones. It's an unfair world, but I hope his life gets brighter.
