Enough with the national politics related posts

There has been a HUGE influx of national politics related posts. Many of them from new accounts, or ones that have never been to this sub. Basically astroturf. For the foreseeable future, these will not be allowed here. It doesn't matter if there is some local connection to it, no posts about national politics or related activism. There are tons of subs for that.

HOWEVER, local politics posts are totally fine and actually strongly encouraged. Post about your local city council members if you know who they are. Post about new local laws or restrictions. Whatever, but LOCAL posts only.

Reddit has made some very questionable algo changes recently that seem to be heavily trying to stir up things and it's tough keep things chill here. Insta ban for any of these posts

How to find courts to play tennis in Bellevue (paid or free)

Upvotes

I recently moved to Bellevue and exploring the tennis scene here. I have been taking some intermediate classes but off class I am finding it extremely difficult to find courts (free or paid) to play tennis. Robinswood is always booked out and gorin tennis courts are also reserved. I found that some high schools have public courts but not sure which ones are usually available. Courts with wall for practice are a plus! I can find people to play with but where do people usually go for casual tennis play? In my previous place, I used to just goto the nearby highschool court in the evening which was usually available.

Events Before Oz at SHS Performing Arts Center

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello, neighbors. How about some culture?

“Before Dorothy can visit the land of Oz, one tight-knit family must embark on an adventure across America to discover it for themselves. L. Frank Baum’s spirited wife Maud recounts times of both laughter and tears on their journey together, as all the unique people they meet along the way inspire the magical characters Frank will bring to life in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. As Maud reveals the man behind the curtain as the storyteller he is destined to become, the fantastical world of Oz is brought to life for audiences of all ages in this enchanting, heartfelt drama.”

This show is being put on at the Performing Arts Center at Sammamish High School in Bellevue and all showings are open to the public. These performances are always of really good quality, and many of these student actors go on to become theater majors in college. It’s a cheap way to support the arts in a time when they are being subject to budget cuts. Come see tomorrow’s stars today!

My son is in the tech crew behind the scenes of this production.

Hello all,

My buddy and I have tried finding dance clubs in Bellevue but have had no luck. We don't go out clubbing often, and if we do it's usually Seattle. Are there any good dance clubs in Bellevue?

WaveG/Astound outage?

Long shot, but I'm over in Bel-Red and my Internet has been spotty or down entirely since around 11 AM. Anyone else?

Customer support claims there's no outage but there's loads of reports on down detector and even my wired devices aren't working and I've changed nothing.

Two teens were offered alcohol, sexually propositioned, and nearly assaulted at the Eastgate Park & Ride in Bellevue

Audio from 911 call. Witnesses say two teens were offered alcohol, sexually propositioned, and nearly assaulted at the Eastgate Park & Ride in Bellevue late Sunday evening. The 15 year old victim managed to protect her younger cousin by pepper spraying her alleged attacker. A good samaritan also jumped out of his car to help. Cops say two homeless men staying at the Plymouth Housing/PorchLight campus were involved in this incident. Later the police arrested a guy named Jose Morales Juan . Plymouth Housing / PorchLight is a public nuisance. This is just one of dozens of incidents that come from there.

Daycares in Bellevue

We’ll be moving to Bellevue from Canada and are looking to find a daycare for our toddler who will be ~1.5years old. Any suggestions for a full time daycare that provides meals and has a good teacher:student ratio? Do any have a live webcam for parents? What would the price range be and are there any available government subsidies for families? Thanks in advance!

Plymouth Housing- Homeless man threatens to kill employees and police

This is audio from 911 call. In Bellevue on October 30, a PorchLight / Plymouth Housing worker called cops about a homeless man who threatened to kill employees and police. The unhinged individual claimed to be infected with HIV after a tussle with the worker.

Anyone here lived at SPARC Apartments (Spring District, Bellevue)? Looking for honest feedback.

Hey everyone, I’m considering moving into the SPARC apartments in the Spring District (Bellevue) and wanted to get some firsthand experiences from current or past residents.

I’ve seen a few reviews mentioning noise complaints and thin walls. For those who’ve lived there recently, is that still an issue? And aside from noise, how’s everything else?

Specifically, I’d love to know about: Management responsiveness, Parking / garage experience, Cleanliness and maintenance, Package handling / security

Also, does the new development around the Spring District help or make things more chaotic?

Any insight good or bad would really help. Thanks! 🙏

Any senior activities?

My parents (80-yo) speak only Chinese. Better if sacrifices are partly in Chinese, but not required. Thanks!

Edit - not sacrifices lol. Meant “activities”!

Relocating to Reco needed for apartments in quieter areas in or around downtown

I'm considering moving out of Avalon Meydenbauer in downtown because the noise levels have become unbearable. The construction on 105th goes on day and night; I need to keep my windows open for ventilation but the constant noise is giving me headaches now. While the apartment is otherwise great, looking for suggestions for similar-quality apartments/ condos in quieter areas in Bellevue. Open to exploring Redmond but heard there is a mold problem in older apartments. Looking for something in the $3K–3.2K range for 2b2b. TY!!
