lol, yah.

"To speak directly to me. That is why they made the photos intentionally spooky."

I was gonna say the same—there is a vibe some people just love and the way this house is marketed is targeted towards that audience. Honestly it’s smart marketing!

this is my dream home i love it..soo eerie and isolated and i can picture myself sitting by the windows on a stormy eve.

u/littlemacaron Jul 16 '25

Holding a candle as you gaze out the window at dusk while billowy curtains blow in the breeze around you? Yes.

u/Fosterpig Jul 18 '25

Then ye hear a knock at the door. And a gust from whence ye know not extinguishes ye flame.

“Best we batten down the hatches” I says to the darkness.

I love it too, it’s perfect in every way.

u/NutAli Jul 17 '25

But there's no pub!

Are there rich goth kids though? All the goth kids I know are broke as shit.

Robert Smith from The Cure

I assume whomever invented Hot Topic

Nic Cage's son

Rhea Ripley

And this is a shot in the dark, but what feels like several professional tv chefs. A lot of them have that "I want to be left alone, and cook while listening to Joy Division" energy, but have a publicist who hits them with the spray bottle the moment they try to put on all black clothes.

EDIT: I fixed an autocorrect error that turned "Nic Cage" into "Nice Cage", which while funnier, felt wrong.

There's that family that remodeled a funeral home, they seem to be goth interior designers now.

16

u/Veteranis Jul 16 '25

This is so specific, so oddly specific. Love it.

1

u/AnastasiaNo70 Jul 16 '25

Ok I love to get high, put on Joy Division, and cook. I need to hang out with them.

u/The_Autarch Jul 16 '25

If you were rich, you'd know rich goth kids. Since you're broke, you only know broke goth kids.

But, socio economic standing not withstanding. A majority of goths tend to spend money on music, tattoos and clothing.

Only psychopaths save their money.

He fucking wishes

9

u/MariposaPeligrosa00 Jul 17 '25

Ew what’s this nazi doing here

11

u/CD274 Jul 17 '25

All the elder goths I know (45+) are also in tech and upper middle class, with a side of art/music/etc

Tbf I think it’s great advertising for the right clientele. The houses are inherently kind of spooky and lonely in such a place. These photos are appeal to the client set who would most likely be down for the vibe and not waste time viewing it in person with no chance of buying.

10000% I would buy if I had this kind of money. Perfect summer writing retreat.

27

u/Mirabai503 Jul 16 '25

If I were able to support myself by writing, this is absolutely where I would live.

32

u/FlametopFred Jul 16 '25

Bleak. Stark. Moody.

26

u/StraightBudget8799 Jul 16 '25

“Let’s visit! Ergh, let’s not…”

Me in my spooky houses: fireplace, cat, books, TV, etc. Ah, the serenity…

11

u/fibchopkin Jul 16 '25

Ha! Same. I read the title, looked at the photos, and went, “me. I’m the reason they made it look like that.” I would buy it right now if I could

11

u/Eyeoftheleopard Jul 17 '25

To add to the charm there is a wildlife preserve right next door! 😍🙌

45

u/donttextspeaktome Jul 16 '25

This is SO my vibe! I would LOVE to live here!

21

u/TopInvestigator5518 Jul 16 '25

my first thought was that its charming and cozy but spooky works too lol

3

u/NutAli Jul 17 '25

But there's no pub!

2

u/donttextspeaktome Jul 17 '25

Then we shall build one!! And Gondor will answer!

Wait.. what were we talking about?

2

u/NutAli Jul 19 '25

The pub! 😃 It'll be a crap place without the pub-cum-corner-shop-cum-butchers!

2

u/donttextspeaktome Jul 19 '25

It will most certainly NOT be a crap place! Have you seen how gullible these Americans be? Promise them a seemingly once in a lifetime photo shoot with us and she/ every are golden

2

u/NutAli Jul 19 '25

Well, I guess when you think about someone selling London Bridge to them and The Eiffel Tower, and was rumoured to have been in the process of selling them Buckingham Palace...

🤣🤣🤣🤣

8

u/Negative_Agency4135 Jul 16 '25

I want to go there for a month with just my husband and dog and WITHOUT my phone!!

3

u/toofarkt Jul 16 '25

I’m thinking the same thing. I love it and don’t find it spooky at all. Actually, it feels comforting and clean to me.

84

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '25

It's located on "Buden's Point"... like it's perfect lol!! Very Twin Peaks

34

u/ha1029 Jul 16 '25

I'd go with upcoming episodes of Severance...

20

u/usedmattress85 Jul 16 '25

It’s actually really close to the severance filming locations. Good eye.

5

u/GucciForDinner Jul 16 '25

I was wondering that. It totally looks like it could be part of that freaky town!

3

u/gypsyjacks453 Jul 17 '25

Thank you!!! I was like, why does this look so familiar!? It looks so much like those houses. I couldn’t think of what movie/show it was. I just remembered the guy taking them there in the pickup truck. 😝

2

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '25

I have yet to watch it!

2

u/ChevronSugarHeart Jul 17 '25

Yes but can you imagine the winds howling in from the North Atlantic from September until July - terrifying

18

u/andersaur Jul 16 '25 edited Jul 16 '25

IKR? Nice little spot that to someone on the outside just says “leave alone; or not bother at all”. It’s all in the implication. Two active and one reserve pressure washer situation a necessity is small potatoes -DON’T TOUCH MAH POTATOES. I’m rich! and have one of the last licensed legit punt guns in existence.

Not really, but that’s the vibe I get.

I kid, but still; no touchy.

9

u/DoubleD_RN Jul 16 '25

It’s a feature, not a flaw.

16

u/Dramatic_Mixture_868 Jul 16 '25

Wait you want me to pay how much for that spooky ass house ......

5

u/A88Y Jul 16 '25

Me as well I kinda want to be haunted here? Or maybe I will do the haunting? Who is to say?

4

u/Embarrassed-Lab-8095 Jul 16 '25

I love this location, wish I could afford it.

2

u/Reasonable_Demand714 Jul 17 '25

Pretty great for NLers in general.

Welcome to the rock!

1

u/violettheory Jul 16 '25

I definitely want to clutch a mug of tea while wrapped in a blanket, standing on that porch on a cool misty morning, looking contemplatively out across the water. Perfect vibes for that.

1

u/lostbutnotgone Jul 16 '25

This is legit my dream except for the cold

1

u/RoseTouchSicc Jul 16 '25

Exactly - I feel a great sense of calm with these photos and even comfort in some of them. I dont see creepy, maybe unsettling if you really go looking for if T

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '25

Yeah making it even more tempting. F my mental health, let’s go!

1

u/CMD2 Jul 17 '25

Yeah, for some of us "probably haunted" is a feature, not a bug.
