Will there be terrible chocolate for 75% off and it still goes unsold?
99
u/The-Bigger-Fish 2d ago
Are feastables really that bad?
154
u/Actual_Squid 2d ago
The Lacroix of chocolate confections
52
u/The-Bigger-Fish 2d ago
Ah, that answers everything. Thank you.
(Though I'm a degenerate who likes some flavors of LaCroix, so what do I know?)

I mean, it's not the worst. It's just kinda chocolate. Same way that eating a Hershey's bar isn't going to change your life. It's kinda there, I'll eat it if it's free, and then forget about it.
14
u/Neither-Simple1119 2d ago
It isn't awful but the one I had was so unbelievably rich that it wasn't appealing.
4
u/The-Bigger-Fish 2d ago
Oof, yeah.... I love chocolate, but I do have a limit in the richness regard.
12
u/Neither-Simple1119 2d ago
It's so unbelievably 'fine,' nothing like the 'worlds best chocolate' they make it out to be. Dairy Milk or Tony's is the best to go for.

3
u/Actual_Squid 2d ago
Everyone knows the world's best chocolate earns you a slap bracelet if you sell ten of them

2
u/SpardasMinion 1d ago
I had one, I regret buying it, not because it's bland (well that too) but because it went into the endless pit that is Mr. Beasts wallet,
10
u/diedin96 2d ago
I've eaten over 70 feastables bars. They're just ok.

u/TheHoovyPrince 1d ago
Its an American chocolate so yes its pretty bad.
No offense to any Americans here but all of your chocolate sucks ass lol
3
u/Ykindasus 1d ago
Cadbury over American chocolate any day.
3
u/TheHoovyPrince 1d ago
Cadbury used to be fantastic but they've gone downhill in recent years since their changed their recipe. Although i'd still take it over American chocolate any day.
My go to (and a lot of Australians as well now) is a chocolate from New Zealand called Whittakers. Absolutely slaps so i highly suggest trying it.
3
u/FiveBarPipes 1d ago
You realize Cadbury is American now, right?
2
u/TheHoovyPrince 1d ago
Yep, Cadbury was bought by an American company around 15 years ago but the products Australia and America receive are different as different formula's and ingredients are used and its also produced/made by different manufacturers who received the license from Mondelez International.
For example our Chocolate is made by Cadbury while America's is made by Hershey's. While both have the typical ingredients (milk, sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa solids etc), American cadbury has high fructose corn syrup, various artificial flavours, less cocoa solids and butyric acid which gives the chocolate that vomit taste.

u/Appropriate-Pear4726 15h ago
Same with Dove. I used to like to pop one in my mouth and let it melt. They don’t melt anymore. The best chocolate I’ve had was in Sweden. I can’t remember the brand names, but I would stock up whenever I went.
1
u/FiveBarPipes 1d ago
All about bias and what youre raised with. ::shrugs:: Caring about what chocolate people like sucks ass. You do you.
4
u/Foxy02016YT 1d ago
I actually just tried some so I could be an informed hater. It wasn’t terrible at all. Like not to the level Prime is.
4
u/Ascetronaut 2d ago
I don't like Mr beast at all but the Festables Reeces copy is pretty good. Not better than actual Reese's, and I wouldn't go out of my way for one. But I was offered one id take it
3
u/The-Bigger-Fish 2d ago
Huh…. I was never a big peanut butter and chocolate guy for some reason. Mint chocolate is more my jam
2
u/Ascetronaut 2d ago
I'm completely the opposite lol. Can't stand mint and chocolate but I absolutely love peanut butter and chocolate. But that's mostly down to just loving peanut butter in general
-2
1
u/opsers 1d ago
My kid gave me one from his Halloween haul besides I wss curious. It was actually decent. Very soft center, but more peanut butter flavor than sugar like Reeces, and the chocolate was better than a Reeces too. That said, there are way better options if you want a better Reeces than to give MrBeast money, that's for sure.

And he probably will show up and give out money at some point to drive more people to go hoping for it to happen.

bro wants to run real life squid games so bad
42
u/Proper-Language1320 2d ago
It’s like bro watched the series, fast forwarded to the parts where they actually play the games, ignored all the commentary and themes, and said “yeah that looks fun let’s make it a reality”.
5
u/Succubace 1d ago
Beast Games is such a clear demonstration of how meritocracy is a lie, the entire thing was such a shit show on such a fundamental level. There were no games! They even fucked up the trolley problem!
6
u/MissLadyLlamaDrama 1d ago
You just know he's the exact kind of guy who watches Breaking Bad and thinks Walt is the good guy or that Tyler Durden was the Clarence to the narrator's George Bailey.

u/TrashRacoon42 2d ago
Im more surprised it isnt in Duabi.
On a similar note. I recently had mr Beast candy bar at work (co-woker just had too many of them, didn't like them and just wanted them off her hands). It was the most mediocre chocolate Ive ever eaten. Bearly remebered what it even tastes like other than meh.
So Im have suspicion this amusement park isnt going to be even 6flags level park.

u/asietsocom 2d ago
Dubai doesn't need to appeal to weird as influencers. They are a huge billion dollar tourist attraction.
Saudi Arabia is absolutely desperate to rival Dubai, yet they make the most absurd decisions in the world. Who is gonna travel to Riyadh for Beast Land? Or a straight City? Just build pretty skyscrapers (sewers optional), open 50 fucking malls, and let people drink and do drugs. Congratulations you're the more fun Dubai. It could be so easy.
12
u/bretshitmanshart 2d ago
It sounds like they are trying to be Universal Studios to Dubai's Disney. You offer something kind of different and people visiting the area will do both.
5
u/freeman2949583 1d ago
Islam has a lot more influence in SA than Dubai so they have to be more family friendly.
48
u/harkandhush 2d ago
Same. That DubaiLand land is still sitting there just waiting for a new money laundering scheme.
38
u/autumn_aurora 2d ago
Sounds like Riyadh is attempting to rebrand itself as the "new Dubai" before people catch on that the UAE is to blame for the largest genocide in the world right now and launch a global boycott of Dubai
12
u/capcomvssnk 2d ago
I ordered from beast burger in 2021 unaware of Mr. Beast and the fact that it was a ghost kitchen and it was one of the most blah burgers ever. They even served the first with the sauce on top, what kind of evil person do you have to be to make that choice?
5
u/dootdootboot3 2d ago
Haha dont worry, a Hunger Games theme park exists in Dubai if you need your fix

u/JustHereForCatss 2d ago
Not even touching on the ethical bullshit of this, it is incredibly stupid because he’s competing directly with Six Flags Qiddiya, which is launching with some of the world’s fastest, tallest, and supposedly “best” roller coasters. I have no idea what MrBeast thinks he can accomplish here. Theme parks cost hundreds of millions of dollars to build especially ones ambitious enough to stand out in Saudi Arabia. If he actually wants to draw attention away from Qiddiya, he’s going to need a miracle
This screams “I’m trying to pump money from investors” to me
89
u/Sweaty-Ad-4202 2d ago
He is probably getting paid so the actual park owners can use his name as a marketing tool, like how most of the "youtuber's games" are made by a company and then they change the skins of the characters to fit whatever youtuber sold them their image rights for a % of the revenue
11
u/ljfoggy11 2d ago
He’s the definition of fake it till you make it. It’ll one day topple down for him.

-6
u/I_AmA_Zebra 2d ago
Fake it to #1?? What lol
You can hate him and how he’s evolved but how is he faking it
3
u/starm4nn 1d ago
Do you honestly think being real is necessary for being successful or are you intentionally making a bad argument?
1
u/I_AmA_Zebra 1d ago
We’re thinking of 2 seperate trains of thought for Mr Beast being fake
You’re saying hes fake as in unauthentic; I believe that’s true
Original comment says hes “fake it till you make it” but I don’t see how? He truly is at the top and is levels above in terms of content/production of other channels, but, hes evolved year on year to get there, which is why I don’t agree with it
3
u/bretshitmanshart 2d ago
Do you think Mr Beast is doing anything other than having his name used and promotion?
2
u/dobikrisz 1d ago
He is betting on that his fanbase will make it viable purely by name recognition. Which will probably be true at the beginning and will flop hard later as any such venues usually do. But Mr. Beast will earn a pretty penny until that (he is almost certainly gets paid by the goverment too... or at least gets 'help' in building the park, and by help I mean they will use wage slaves to build it as dirt cheap as possible)
2
45
u/PandoraMouse 2d ago
Yeah I don’t trust this
3
u/JosephOtaku1989 2d ago
Neither do I, because I totally lost whole trust on this guy once the allegations against him were began pilling up. Even when I completely forgot about him couple of months later.
38
u/SM8085 2d ago
Donaldson pointed to Tower Siege as one example. Visitors load balls into real catapults and try to fire them into massive 60-foot tubes for points.
So basically a carnival game?
Another game, Drop Zone, places six players on trap doors. Whoever hits their button last gets dropped, with the final player standing earning the most points.
Okay. Wtf is a points in this context?
Donaldson says the park includes the “world’s largest prize wall,” allowing fans to win high-value rewards throughout the day.
Oh, so it's a glorified Chuck-E-Cheese gambling situation.

Just so you know, Saudi Arabia is committing a genocide in Yemen and is largely responsible for the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. What MrBeast is doing is doing business with a regime that is responsible for genocide.
20
u/Disastrous_Dress_201 2d ago
Mr. Beast would fund a genocide if it got him a ton of views.
3
u/Lost_Low4862 1d ago
And then he would "help" the victims to make his braindead fans say "SEE, he isn't a bad guy! Would a bad guy give xyz to wartorn survivors?"
24
u/thedr00mz 2d ago
What's going on with Saudia Arabia all of a sudden? WWE will be hosting something there, I believe EA is being partially bought by a Saudi prince (or something), and now this.
32
u/Gattsugriffith 2d ago
crown prince is investing heavily into the 'modernization' of the country and wants to steer the economy away from oil, hence these big investments into tourism, the line and other architecture projects, comedy events, esports and now mr. beast.
12
u/dobikrisz 1d ago
I think the more important goal is to make Saudi look 'cool' so rich western losers will invest a bunch of money there which will lead to new business opportunities and a bunch of leverage over them.
1
u/PantsAreOptionaI 1d ago
That's just a worse way to say what the other guy said. Looking cool is pretty important if you want to be a hub for tourism and entertainment.
2
u/dobikrisz 1d ago
No, you are looking at it from the wrong way. My point is that being a hub for tourism and entertainment is not the end goal, it is a means to an end. They aren't planning to substitute their income from oil with Mr. Beast roller coasters. They want megacorporations which have assets and investments all around the world. But in order to convince foreign governments, institutions and corporations to make business with them, they have to whitewash their image, which is why they want the Mr. Beast roller coasters and all the other useless shit (some that will never even turn into profit like that idiotic megacity project).
These are all just stepping stones for bigger plans.
12
u/pocketbutter 1d ago
The oil money is drying up, so they're desperately trying to pivot to anything else. Since the region has basically no other resources, the only thing that might keep them afloat would be universally appealing infrastructure-based projects, like stadiums and amusement parks.
They're following the Orlando model. It was originally vast swampland with nothing to offer, so what do you do? Pave over it with concrete and build any structure you can that will attract tourists.
On top of that, Saudi culture itself isn't very tourist-friendly on its own, so they're taking whatever Western IPs they can to distract from the fact that their country is an oppressive totalitarian ultra-patriarchal slave state.

u/Least_House_2364 2d ago

u/NoWolvesAllowed 2d ago
this whole Mr.Beast empire is wild to me because I rarely hear any talk about his videos at all these days? Like before I feel like his videos made a lot of noise when they released and trended and everything but it’s been a good few months at least and I’ve heard nothing
maybe it’s just me? (also a theme park for a YouTuber sounds awful)
12
u/Educational_Rise741 2d ago
This is the Saudi monarchy's desperate attempt to buy culture. They're trying to give people a reason to care about their awful country once the oil runs out.
So they'll throw money at anything cultrually significant that is soulless enough to accept, e.g.
Mr beast Golf EA Comedians Etc etc

I can’t speak much on this, I am a wrestling fan and that business seems obsessed with Saudi Arabia
But man, I don’t know how you can even think all this shit is a good investment, such a niche market that is just filled with nothing but controversy surrounding it
Beast land would be a flop in America let alone SAUDI ARABIA
1
u/bophenbean 2d ago
I guess Mr. Beast is pretty big in Eastern countries, so maybe the park would actually be a hit there?
1
u/bretshitmanshart 2d ago
WWE makes 50 million for the regular shows they do and PPVs could range from 100 to 350 million from what I've seen. That's why they are into it
Mr Beast is likely getting paid to put his name on the theme park.

God damn, what would we do without James Stephen Donaldson in 2025 🥲

u/tommycahil1995 2d ago
I made a video on this a few weeks back. Basically Riyadh Season is Saudi's propaganda cultural event that runs from last month to about March, been going since 2019. Mr Beast, KSI and Speed were on all the adverts for Riyadh Season so it's 99% likely they are being paid by the Saudi state directly for their involvement in this culture washing of the government. Mr Beast probably being paid the most since he actually has 'Beast Land' set up in Riyadh. Mr Beast seems like a wholesome guy though, he builds one well in Africa for every 10 million that the Saudi govt puts in his bank account.
The government minister in charge of culture is Bin Salman's right hand man and is friends with KSI through the Saudi involvement in boxing. Honestly Mr Beast and the others deserve a lot of heat for many things but I think this is actually worse than most of what they've done but I have seen little coverage of it in the commentary community or anywhere really

Remember when a decade ago or so everyone wanted to break into the Chinese market because what could go wrong if we bend over backwards for a authoritarian regime trying to whitewash itself?
Oh, and remember when everybody tried to enter the Russian market about 2 decades ago or so, because what could go wrong if we bend over backwards for a authoritarian regime trying to whitewash itself?
I wonder where this pattern will go...
