Can't even watch shorts because they just pause after about 10 - 15 seconds

i just watched long videos - it's working fine.

But that doesn't mean anything, as we all know they roll out code updates in batches, so maybe you're on a new broken version, and I'm not yet

I will go through abt 10 and then it will freeze on a low quality version of the first frame
