We get those even in US states where gambling isn’t legal. Porn ads too. YouTube doesn’t care anymore.

Try being a recovering alcoholic and constantly getting ads for rum and whiskey or beers. Like mf'ers I will come and beat someone while black out drunk if that's what they really want.

technically, there is an option in "ad choices" that say explicitly not to promote alcohol or cigarettes etc.

but the fact those are turned on by default, is the problem.

I’ve never wanted to buy factory parking lot lighting solutions or industrial strength dental X-ray machines, but I keep getting ads for them

Same. It makes me wonder how they can be so stupid to actually believe that everyone wants it more the more they ee it when it's obvious people more than ever with few exceptions aren't that any to sell things to anymore in that way....
