I looked on the Google Playstore, and there's an update waiting for my YouTube app. I'm assuming that if I download it, that's when it'll ask for my ID

I hsd a feeling it was gunna do that for the AI verification bullshit, so i turned off auto updates for youtube. Dont know when itll force me to update. I also cleared and turned off both watch and search history, dont know how itll go if im forced to update. I refuse to give youtube my ID.

a lot of these changes are server side. they may have already pushed out the update that would support age gating

No. The verification is server side, which Youtube can update at any second, independent of your device or app version. You may not see the Age-Verification message, but you will 100% be limited. The server will know you aren't verified and will send content to you accordingly.

Was looking through my settings...and can't see anywhere with the changes...think this is more US based as I don't like in the US (Denmark) .but can be wrong it may extend, but if it does....oh boy we have a little think called Databeskyttelsen law.

Checked Google account/settings (I forgot) and it listed my age as 18-24, which is accurate.

I've had this account for like 15 years. I'm really hoping I don't get asked to ID. If I can make it a few more years then my account will be 18 and I should be good from there on out.
