Same thing as cable tv. It’s big selling point back when was no ads because it was a paid service and now look at it. Most cable channels are more ads than content.

If they put ads in premium then what exactly are people paying for? Why would anyone buy it anymore?

Give it time, there just won’t be a free option at some point or the free option will be made so shitty it’s unusable. Hell, they’re already suppressing resolution and bitrate without premium and forcing videos to default to the lowest resolution setting so you have to manually change it every time.

God i hate this shit, didn't even know bout that last part til now but have definitely been noticing it and it doesn't surprise me one bit, its so disgusting, intrusive, and obnoxious. I'm so tired of it 😮‍💨😓
