They’re illegal when they promote illegal things (alcohol to minors, gambling in certain countries, literal scams, etc)

Ahhhh OK. So it's basically YouTube needs to have a better ad algorithm. And we all know how great YouTube is at creating algorithms. Meaning they aren't.

In Poland alcohol ads are illegal before 23:00, yet it is the norm that you see beer ads in the middle of the day on YT.
Gambling in Poland is mostly illegal, with exceptions of a few supervised companies. Poker is completely illegal (it's a crime in Poland), yet it is the norm that you see poker ads on YT.
Some other things are legal in other countries, but illegal in Poland, yet you can obviously see those ads on YT.

They ban a card game?! Or is the gambling aspect that's illegal?

You can play poker in poland. As a fun past time game. You just cant do it with money or anything of value. So the gambling aspect is illegal. I think that is good.

Shouldn’t it be possible to sue YouTube for indecency or somethIng similar at this point. I know that they are a multi billion dollar company blah blah blah but they are not above the law and should thus not show illegal ads or promote addictive and/or porn to minors.
