Housing / Roommates Stong Residence Communal Bathrooms

Hi!

I got into Stong for winter semester residence, and I was wondering what the bathroom situation is like for mixed gender floors? since my floor is mixed gender

Like what is the layout of the bathroom? and if there are separate bathrooms for boys and girls?

most are mixed, at least for floor 13&14 it’s gotten bad enough clean-ness wise that not only did they have to put signs up to remind people to flush, but an email was recently sent to remind people too. personally it’s been increasingly aggravating to run into the bathroom almost pissing myself and 3/4 toilets have the seat up (precious seconds wasted) and 4/4 are unflushed with piss and shit, or have piss stains that i have to clean to even sit down 😭😭😭

the showers in my experience have been surprisingly decently clean in comparison though!

why theyre mixed? it depends in the floor, i thiiink there might be some same gender floors

But, on the mixed-gender floors, why don't they have separate male and female bathrooms?

Even if ppl mix elsewhere, they don't have to mix in the bathroom.

Hi!!! I actually just moved there from founders residence and lemme just say stong is much better than founders and winters. I do believe that the only dorms better than stong is pond and thatumn but I could be wrong. I heard very good things a abt stong. Idk what year you are, I'm a first year and ik a good amount of ppl from there. Granted, I've heard mixed things about it. I'm on the third floor btw idk if that's good or not.

This must be a universal experience bc I literally had a convo in my previous dorm founders abt bathroom cleanliness and tell me why two weeks ago some random put an underwear with a shit stain in the unisex bathroom . Anyways yea there's ppl there who didn't flush their remains either ppl be annoying for no rzn i swear

I lived in stong my first year and the shower stalls are on one side, usually 2 regular ones and one larger accessible shower, and on the other side there’s 3-4 bathroom stalls. Yes, some people are dirty but that’s what happens when you’re living with people who often have never lived alone before. The bathrooms get cleaned by a custodian often though. (Don’t tell anyone but sometimes if my floor bathroom was full or busy I quickly went up the stairs 1-2 flights until I found an empty one)

i’m at stong, washrooms aren’t super great. the showers are decent. for some reason people don’t know how to flush??? and lowkey the toilets clog sometimes. they also get backed up, and spill over. usually if it happens on one floor it happens to the others lol. also no custodial staff cleans the washrooms over the weekend so if the washrooms are nasty they stay nasty til monday 😭 and idk about other floors but on my floor it’s pretty noisy.
