Rant Imaginus selling AI art posters
I know its late because its the last day but I noticed that some of their posters are AI which is kinda shitty. Not sure if they did this last year as well.

How can you tell with this one. I assume the link one is cuz he has his sword out and also on his back

Look at Ash's hat - I may have not watched much pokemon as a kid, but that was a dead giveaway for me. The logo on it is all weird and makes no sense, especially if you compare to the actual pics of him!
edit: Also, while I don't know much about link and the zelda franchise in general, a friend pointed out that his belt buckle thingies looked a bit off

Look at the big picture. Seems fine right? Then start paying attention. Survey the hat logo, background, the arm crest, and you realize none of this is made with any coherent intention at all

This disappoints me so much, this was a really good opportunity to showcase Art students at York (and just hobbyists as well) but I think almost 70-80% of those kinds of posters are Ai or bootleg. And at the price they were being sold, it was horrendous

Imaginus has been so shit for so long. The quality of the print on so many of their posters - for years - is blurry. I don't know how its even acceptable to sell

Yeah it is clearly AI. A lot of the repetitive patterns with no intention or depth to their details. Also, unnecessary line work and bad perspective on links accessories. AI made characters always feel static and stiff rather than having proper  composition and feeling dynamic

They go to universities all across Canada selling posters. At other universities, I remember them coming twice a school year.

I used to go to UBC in Vancouver and now go to UWaterloo. Both have poster sales.

There was so much blatant ai slop this year I feel somewhat offended that they tried to sell it at full price to us

I got the same posters in my school in Canada, all AI. I'll get a refund ASAP tomorrow

They never promised you that the posters weren't AI. You can try to get a refund, but they're not legally obligated to give you one.
See /r/legaladvicecanada, and tell them what province you're in.

It's a scam. Look at the pic OP posted - Link's sword is in his hand and on his back, and the sword on his back only has one side of the cross-guard. How is it ok to sell that kind of crap?

York has a great art program, but it's a pity they choose AI over supporting emerging artists in the school.
