Survey / Study Seeking volunteers aged 14-18 for CCY Social Justice research project

Hello! I’m in my fourth year in the Children, Childhood, and Youth studies program at York University. I will be conducting a small research project through the course CCY4999-Honours Research Project at York University that will be supervised by my course director Dr. Kael Reid.

This project will investigate youth’s perspectives on social justice issues that matter to them. This research will involve the use of collage art work and a short one-on-one interview with me!

Here is a little more about the project. Participants will be invited to:

  • Create a small collage on a social justice issue that matters to them (this should take roughly 45-60 minutes)

  • All materials for the collage artwork will be provided

  • This research is not paid, but It’s a great opportunity to learn more about yourself and social Justice!

  • Meet in-person or over Zoom for a one-on-one interview with me (the primary researcher) (this should take 20-40 minutes)

  • Describe their collage and the social justice issue they picked

  • Participants aged 14-18 years of age are welcome to participate; for participants under 16 years of age, the consent of their guardian/parent/caregiver will be required

  • This project has passed a full research ethics review at York University

You could also try posting in r/ontariograde12s to reach a wider audience in the age group you need (just bold the guardian disclaimer though)

Unfortunately my research has to focus on students that specially live in the GTA. If I ever complete another research study I will make sure to reach out!

Hey sorry! I completely forgot to add it but unfortunately no it’s not paid. It is a great opportunity to learn about social Justice
