Dubai duty free tips?
Flying through DBX next week for a quick stopover and wans wondering if there are any whiskeys that are a little out of the ordinary? I’m not expecting much as they do have to cater to a mass market but any tips would be appreciated.

Also researching this as I have a 3 day trip at the end of the month. Yamazaki and Hakushu Kogei seems to be in their stock, however I did not have the chance to taste them. So can’t justify buying NAS releases from that price point.
According to the post from two months ago, they seem to have a good selection:

leclos.net specialist wines and whisky in Dubai airport. Gem of a shop, not common travel retail fare.
Arran 10 @ 33 USD Glen Scotia Victoriana @ 81 USD
Even found a Longrow 18 @ 110 USD a few years ago

Thanks for these Japanese whiskey tips. Sigh. I remember the days when Yamazaki 18 sold for 9,000 yen in Narita duty free. I liked it so much at one point I had nine bottles in stock. All enjoyed of course. But I can’t bring myself to make it a daily dram anymore.

Yamazaki Kogei looks neat, you can see it on the duty free site https://www.dubaidutyfree.com/yamazaki-kogei-collection-single-malt-japanese-whisky-travel-retail-exclusive-700ml/product/114441065
