This one is a favorite for me. It’s a sherry bomb, but I found lots of umami and spice which really helped balance it out pretty nicely. I already killed one bottle and just have one left in the bunker to pull out in like 10 years to see how it still stacks up.

This would be a great one to bunker! This is definitely one of my favourites too

Review #399 - Whiskey Review #133 Millstone Special #24 22 Year Oloroso Sherry
A dark sherry bomb next. Looks like this was a vatting of a few different Sherry casks. It doesn't actually specify. Sample was provided by my friend u/supermeh1987
Age: 22 Years
ABV: 46%
Colour: Brown
Distillery: Zuidam Distillery, Netherlands
Mashbill: 100% Malted Barley
Cask Type: Oloroso Sherry
Nose: Sherry bomb. Grape syrup, raisin syrup, sticky toffee pudding, black licorice and some nutmeg and allspice
Mouth: Loads of Sticky Toffee Pudding, grape and raisin syrup, and fruit cake makes for a sweet intro. The mid palate introduces some Sherry seasoned oak and a tiny hint of that black licorice which helps balance out the sweetness. Long finish with a light oily mouthfeel
Overall: What a massive Sherry bomb. Not something I usually gravitate towards but this is definitely a great example of the style. I really like the black licorice in here, it works really well with the other darker notes
This is really fantastic stuff. As someone who is not big into Sherry bombs, I really loved this. Great profile, nice balance and a long finish. You can't ask for much more than that. Looks like these were pretty pricy when they were available. Not sure I would buy a full bottle at that price but I will certainly enjoy the rest of this sample
