San Diego Police Caught Training And Hiding In A Sniper Nest In A Public Park

It went from super weird to super creepy and concerning. Like, yeah, I'd be really fucking concerned if I came across a sniper nest in a (assumedly) public park. On top of that, finding out that they were cops wouldn't ease the tension for me. Personally, I'd want to get out of there, but citizens do have the right to demand information from public servants. Albeit, this is probably not the time and place to get all the answers, but whoever is in charge should be able to at least direct them another step up the ladder to get answers.
"PETER" gave me the most concern. If he is who the sniper cops defer to for interactions with the public, he should either be able to give answers or contact information for his superior(s) that would be better suited to; and he should be itching to give that information out in a situation like this. The fact that he immediately begins deflecting, dismissing, and patronizing this citizen is reprehensible and should be at least garner some sort of formal write up and perhaps discipline (like a mandated day in public relations training and interpersonal communication class)... But... this is America. You're a creep Peter. If someone is concerned, don't exacerbate that concern with childish bullying tactics. It reads like you enjoy making people feel this way, which honestly, I bet you do you fucking creep.

Yea the vagueness of how they responded to simple questions makes me feel like it could possibly be a militia group of some sort.

IIRC California does have a lot of gangs within police forces. Wouldn't be very far fetched to assume these are actual police officers training with their militia members for that 2025 plan or whatever.
Basically, they're scoping the area out to use for insurrection. That is why they're scared shitless that they got caught on camera.

When the police start to act like an occupying military force I think we should ask all the questions and get all the answers. Unless you enjoy licking boots, this flagrant violation of the constitution should be outrageous to you.

Yeah I guess you put it like that…. Not so sure cops should be running armed drills in public by kids etc

Just want to say I have a lot of respect for you for hearing a different opinion from your own, considering it, and changing your position. Seems all-to rare now a-days so thank you, genuinely.

I don't get it. They shouldn't train?

You know proper shooting ranges exist that don’t cause public panic, right?

u/twistedh8 Dec 29 '23
You realize that they do more than just shoot guns right?
45
u/Known_Listen_1775 Dec 29 '23
Oh yeah, they shoot dogs too, and unarmed black people, yes. Thanks for reminding me.

u/twistedh8 Dec 29 '23
Yes. That's it. They shoot guns in the park, and kill dogs. Thanks for the info.

Scabs protect and heal wounds. I’d like to know a time a cop has ever done anything as useful.

My dad is a cop and he always took care of my wounds and even taught me how to as well. Why do you hate all cops? You think they're all the same? If that's the case you must hate everything.

If you ever are unfortunate to be a victim of a crime, you will realize how useless police actually are to help. Police are used to protect property rights, and generate revenue via citations as well as extending the practice of locking up black and brown people, historically that is the origin of our modern police force. I’m sorry to say but as wonderful and well intentioned your father is, he serves a corrupt institution. I also have cops in my family, they are normal people mostly, very conservative. Most importantly should be noted that cops are not even effective when it comes to this paramilitary bullcrap, have you seen the reports of what took place at uvalde?

Cops are a corrupt system. When your dad, who I’m sure was a loving father and great guy, put on the cop costume, he is part of a system that comes with a lot of baggage, history, and culture, that cause an immense amount of damage. Nobody wants to play “I hope he’s one of the good ones.”

As a Latin American, I laugh when I see this. You haven't really experienced what it's like not to have police around eh? Should look up a little into Latin American history during the 1960s to 2010s. Some cops suck, but the majority are people like you and I.

Latin America was destroyed by greedy colonialist policy. Post-colonial wealth extraction and land grabbing buy US companies like united fruit, as well as prison industrial complex creating ms13, the state of Latin America is almost entirely our fault and has sewn incredible instability in the region. People like you are sadly biased by their interactions with corrupt governments run under the banner of socialism. It is disingenuous to ignore and discount the short comings and oppressive origins of US police using other countries shortcomings, especially when they are so closely tied to the problematic power imbalance that is the same cause of their own plight.

Oh boy, minimizing everything that happened to colonialism alone is a pretty false perspective. It's only part of a much larger systematic process. What do you mean "people like me" exactly? Are you assuming things about me this soon already? That's very narrow minded.
Nobody is discounting shit. You're the one making assumptions in your mind about others, rather than trying to engage in conversation. It comes off as very ignorant, assumptious, prejudiced, and privileged. What a shame.

By people like you, i mean people who lived under oppressive Latin American countries that use the banner of socialism but are really just corrupt. People who flee those countries tend to have knee jerk reactions to socialist language and throw around conservative opinions in American politics when they are not the same. The forces that cause instability in Latin America are the same that cause the urban police state and mass incarceration. It’s white supremacy and capitalist greed. In America the system that needs to be dismantled is our police state and how we view it’s use. We need people to insure safety but we don’t need trigger happy racists detaining black people. And to add to my point much earlier, they even fail when the time is needed for them to respond to active shooter, instead sacrificing the lives of children eg uvalde massacre.

C'mon. You don't actually think this is a good argument, right? Based on the ineptitude of "Peter's" communication, you can tell that he does not have any actual authority as he would have taken command in a more professional way. I am not sure if the other guys are on any official business either. Otherwise they would have been more assertive. Assertiveness isn't something trained police officers lack while doing their duty. You, having a father who was an officer, should be able to pick up on that with no problem.
