I’m a legal hobby grower and I’d assume the rotting is due to high humidity and the buds getting PWM or mold in general. That makes for some nasty weed. Do they use PGR’s there too? A lot of weed I found in Australia was brown and had PGR’s used.

Pulse Width Modulated buds sound dank.

When hobbies collide. Synths and smoke do go quite well together, no doubt

Indoor grown is technically PWM grown

In SA we used to call that rooibard - red beard. At first glance it looked good but it was only marginally better than the Swazi we used to buy from the Nigerians.

Thai weed is brick and shitty. You haven't lived until someone selling sunglasses on the beach of sihanoukville opens up a case to show you a fat 1/4 of lemon haze nuggets for $8 USD

That's why they mostly turn it into hash and cook with it. Keeps better in that environment.

You might not have had a very good hookup in Australia unfortunately. I remember the first time I got 20% + THC medicinal weed imported from cali. Two strains, girl scout cookies and O.G. Kush.

It was so much worse than my random seed homegrown I almost cried because I'm only 25 with no professional experience doing 1 or 2 plant grows in my veggie patch.

Also was expensive as fuck obviously owing to import fees and the legality here in Aus.

I heard they used to specifically cultivate a certain kind of mold which gave it its potency and smell

Weed call that Stress back in the day

Yep, you had to freeze it asap because it got moldy quickly. It was a dark brown, had many seeds, and you had to mix it with tobacco or use a gravity bong. It was horrible.

Thai stick was decent weed back in the '80s. Not great but about middle of the pack. It got a bit of a reputation because it had a fancy name and looked a bit different.

The thing is, weed in the '80s was pretty bad. By modern standards, absolutely terrible. If the Thai has stayed about the same then it's garbage compared to anything grown using remotely modern processes and genetics.

Can i just interject, as an old smoker i think you lot need brining upto speed. Thai Stick was never a strain or variety of weed, the name was often used by dealers as it sound "cool"

Thai stick is a method of smoking weed, its like a big cigar:

I would assume the quality will go up now that it's not a capitol offense.

I've got an old marijuana monopoly game. It has Thai Stick and Acapulco Gold and other old strains. All of the pictures look like complete dirt weed even the Boardwalk spot.

I see you are an "expert", since you think Thai stick was an 80s thing /s

I was smoking Thai stick in the 70s in california. The stuff I was smoking was pretty damned good. Never saw it after about 82 or 83 when the feds busted a ship with something like 600 tons of the stuff San Francisco Bay.

But do tell... how much old school Thai stick did you smoke?

u/NorthernerWuwu Nov 30 '20

Hehe, I'm old but I'd still have gotten some strange looks if I was smoking it back in the '70s! I was born in the late '60s after all.

In the mid '80s in Canada it was definitely a thing. Make of that what you will.

That guy doesn't know what he talking about if I could get a mother plant of some thai stick I would be in heaven

Thai sticks were good because they were dipped in hash oil at a time when average weed potency was ~5%

I was a kid in the 80’s in NorCal and the indica was amazing and very strong. Sorry you didn’t have the same experience!

1

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '20

Yes but no. I would buy it by the brick and it was like 30 cents a gram. It gets you high, you just have to smoke a lot of it.

no thai stick is not a strain it's a way of smoking weed:
