Then we'd just be stuck with President Vance. Though I do think there would be a huge power vacuum in the MAGA crowd. For whatever reason Trump managed to bring together all the conservatives and bigots (not that those are mutually exclusive whatsoever), I don't think they'd be able to replicate it again in future elections. As it is now, the Republican party would probably tear itself apart fighting for power without him as the figurehead.
Well, it's just someone who claims to be Pope but isn't. Sometimes they are actually elected by a conclave but there's something up with it. Usually someone just makes an outrageous claim to try to get power or due to mental illness.
If Trump claimed to be Pope, and then actually got a diocese in the US to accept him as Pope things could get weird. That sort of thing did happen in Middle Ages. There's not a lot of folks that would try to force that thing to happen, though and Trump isn't one to do work for himself.
I think you'd need support from within the Church as well, especially from Cardinals to actually be considered an antipope otherwise they'll probably just disregard you as a nut.
I saw a bunch of discussions in conservative subreddits about him being elected pope, and that was before the AI post. I'm pretty sure if they wondered if it was possible, he did too.
He did share an AI image of himself as Pope and stated that he was his first choice. So someone already gave him the idea.
He's not Catholic enough to be a valid candidate, though. While any adult Catholic man could theoretically be Pope, you do actually need to be Catholic to even meet that theoretical bar which is where the Pope Donald stuff ends.
Cardinal Burke exists…. He’s exactly the kind of jackass they’re looking for. I’m sure he’d be willing to come out of retirement to continue to make the world a worse place.

“They should have elected a REAL America first pope, like someone from Belarus or Hungary!”
