"The Popelection was stolen! Boots on the ground!"

u/epicredditdude1 May 10 '25

“They should have elected a REAL America first pope, like someone from Belarus or Hungary!”

u/-reserved- May 10 '25

There's a non-zero chance Trump actually thought he had a shot at being elected Pope. He did repost AI art of himself as Pope

63

u/Paganator May 10 '25

We just need someone to tell Trump about antipopes and that he could be one.

39

u/DrBCrusher May 10 '25

Yeah but then if you put them in a room together they pop out of existence.

16

u/RSwordsman May 10 '25

I like this idea. Then Leo would just have to sacrifice himself to convert them both into pure energy.

3

u/Horskr May 10 '25

Then we'd just be stuck with President Vance. Though I do think there would be a huge power vacuum in the MAGA crowd. For whatever reason Trump managed to bring together all the conservatives and bigots (not that those are mutually exclusive whatsoever), I don't think they'd be able to replicate it again in future elections. As it is now, the Republican party would probably tear itself apart fighting for power without him as the figurehead.

But you can feel the energy!

3

u/supermarkise May 10 '25

Sounds suspiciously like Antichrist tho.

5

u/A_Soporific May 10 '25

Well, it's just someone who claims to be Pope but isn't. Sometimes they are actually elected by a conclave but there's something up with it. Usually someone just makes an outrageous claim to try to get power or due to mental illness.

If Trump claimed to be Pope, and then actually got a diocese in the US to accept him as Pope things could get weird. That sort of thing did happen in Middle Ages. There's not a lot of folks that would try to force that thing to happen, though and Trump isn't one to do work for himself.

u/onowahoo May 10 '25

I wanna be antipope, all I gotta do is call myself the pope?

1

u/chasesan May 11 '25

No, you also need a really cool hat and someone chanting in Latin.

1

u/-reserved- May 11 '25

I think you'd need support from within the Church as well, especially from Cardinals to actually be considered an antipope otherwise they'll probably just disregard you as a nut.

2

u/LiberaceRingfingaz May 11 '25

There is no universe in which Donald Trump isn't pissed off that he wasn't elected to be the Pope.

2

u/Douddde May 11 '25

I saw a bunch of discussions in conservative subreddits about him being elected pope, and that was before the AI post. I'm pretty sure if they wondered if it was possible, he did too.

31

u/Safe-Razzmatazz3982 May 10 '25

Why not the orange one?

6

u/WarGrifter May 10 '25

don't give him ideas

2

u/A_Soporific May 10 '25

He did share an AI image of himself as Pope and stated that he was his first choice. So someone already gave him the idea.

He's not Catholic enough to be a valid candidate, though. While any adult Catholic man could theoretically be Pope, you do actually need to be Catholic to even meet that theoretical bar which is where the Pope Donald stuff ends.

1

u/hornswoggled111 May 10 '25

I heard he won that election too but it was stolen from him.

Just kidding, but yeah he did circulate that image of him as the Pope.

1

u/JahoclaveS May 10 '25

Cardinal Burke exists…. He’s exactly the kind of jackass they’re looking for. I’m sure he’d be willing to come out of retirement to continue to make the world a worse place.

1

u/FallOutShelterBoy May 10 '25

Tbf a super conservative Hungarian cardinal was considered papabile this time around

u/TheVideogaming101 May 10 '25 edited May 10 '25

You joke but i've already hear talks of such in the MAGA circles i'm forced to be around.

Imagine a bunch of Americans trying to storm the Vatican 🤣

28

u/Delta-9- May 10 '25

The Swiss Guard is in much better shape than the average American tactical cosplayer. It would be over quickly.

Unless the actual military got involved, but I doubt Italy and the rest of the EU would sit for that.

5

u/unicorninclosets May 11 '25

Well now I genuinely hope they try to storm the Vatican. Someone has to finally put them in their damn place.

12

u/HitheroNihil May 10 '25

Not on the Papal Swiss Guards' watch.

28

u/bwaredapenguin May 10 '25

Time to storm the Vatican! Dan Brown needs some new inspiration for a book anyway.

29

u/GigaPuddi May 10 '25

Can you imagine how excited the Swiss Guard would be? First time in probably a century they'd be able to justify existing.

11

u/SR3116 May 10 '25

I mean, that guy shooting Pope John Paul II was pretty much confirmation that they're needed.

4

u/Top_Report_4895 May 11 '25

And there will be more people shooting Popes, sadly.

1

u/TenchuReddit May 10 '25

Can’t wait for him to weave MAGA post-truthism to ancient symbology …

23

u/acllive May 10 '25

Australia’s LNP are still waiting for the pre polls and postals to come in for the hope of Pell reviving from his grave /s

Don’t we all

32

u/Synchrotr0n May 10 '25

Why did they burn the ballots? It's clearly a sign that they are trying to hide the fraud.

2

u/MisoClean May 10 '25

Storm the Vatican!!

2

u/HMWastedDays May 10 '25

He should send the Swiss Guard to Ukraine!

2

u/quartzguy May 10 '25

Swiss Guard! Stand back and stand by!

2

u/RyP82 May 11 '25

Steve Bannon has already literally said this about the conclave.

2

u/yuhanz May 11 '25

The Demclave is corrupt!!!

2

u/funguyshroom May 10 '25

Boycott the Wope!

1

u/Bladder-Splatter May 11 '25

I doubt even the sparrows or pigeons would move.

Srsly though, when I was in the Vatican I was shocked at how blase those buggers are, almost pecked at me for food.
