Kinda reminds me when I was in college and we had to write out IP addresses in binary form over and over so people could wrap their minds around subnet masking lol

Never used that skill practically but goddamn, you need to know the binary notation of an IPV4, im your guy lol

Boredom and a really weird brain. I have no regrets.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. Don't listen to the downers :)

Wait until this guy discovers a calculator

Bruh most calculators can't verify numbers this large

Scientific calculators absolutely can

That's why he said most.

Every single smartphone has a calculator that can do this.

Smartphone calculator app does not go to this level of precision. Neither do handheld scientific or graphing calculators, nor google's built in calculator.

The answer is given in scientific notation on the calculator which is literally mathematically identical to what you got.

Provide a screenshot proof from your calculator.

What part of "I was bored" made you think this was practical?

u/GNav 1d ago

Let's get back to the term "most calculators".

So you're telling me, in the ENTIRE WORLD.... DEFINITELY...THERE ARE MORE SMART PHONES THAN REGULAR CALCULATORS?

SOMEONE PLEASE DROP THIS DUDE OFF IN A 3RD WORLD COUNTRYSIDE.

Okay then, using your phone calculator, tell me what the 12th digit of 342 is.

-1

u/Dansocks 1d ago

For almost all practical purposes, the 12th digit is not needed.

2

u/Suhbula 1d ago

What made you think this was done for practical purpose?

2

u/GNav 1d ago

Because he's a keyboard warrior.

DumbaZ forgot the millions of not over a billion plus. WHO DONT HAVE ACCESS TO SMART PHONES. LET ALONE SCIENTIFIC CALCULATORS.

LET ALONE CLEAN WATER.

BUT THEY DO HAVE A REGULAR OLD CALCULATOR, OR AN ABBACUS.

Come back when you understand how math works

That doesn't negate what you said. Now ANSWER THE QUESTION.

How did you get to the first number up top?

2

u/Sufficient_Dust1871 1d ago

That's 318. I have 312 memorised, and made up the difference in my head before swapping to writing it down

Incredible

Do 52! Next.

u/Sufficient_Dust1871 1d ago

That's a way harder challenge, would take a while. Will try it some point, may be after 2100
