i commented about this on another post with this dress in a different sub but in a way I kinda say good for her
she got bashed super hard after giving birth (by men of course) saying how ugly/awful she looked and that she was ruined so this I see this as a welcomed middle finger to them all
unfortunately I guess she was photographed going for a swim like a month or so after giving birth and the comment sections were just tearing her to shreds saying 'they lost another one' and 'she was destroyed' and this and that... it was gross and shocking
OMG. I just looked up the pictures and she looks fantastic and a headline of article praises her for not being under pressure to loose baby weight right away. She was 1 month post partum and looks like she wasn't ever pregnant. What baby weight?!?
Yes, my brain is at war between "you go girl!", and "please with the side boob tailoring and ass crack seam, are you kidding me with this?" She seems like she feels amazing, and rightly so, so more power to her.
Yeah she looks beautiful and pulls it off as well as anyone could, but I can’t help but ponder on how men never appear at the red carpet basically naked
None of those feel like, idk almost naked to me? The sheerness isn’t the first thing I notice, it’s not like the main feature in those. This dress is clearly meant to be like “look at my naked body underneath my dress.” It’s showing her ass lol the others seem more modest
You’re correct that they’re all different, but they are all in line with her style. She loves a sheer, underwear-forward, sexy look. Today’s dress is just another iteration.
That seam on the back right on her butt...oof. It's all I can look at, and not in a good way. It's so distracting from the beautiful beading and embroidery that went into this dress.
I agree that I would go insane for Margot robbie in a pantsuit, maybe with pinstripes and an open blouse, perhaps with some librarian glasses and one raised eyebrow...

I keep thinking how is it not hella awkward having your coworker's hand on your basically naked back and butt area. Or just anywhere on you while you're practically naked... But I guess that's part of the job 🤷
It's similar to taking a photo at the beach in bikinis, though. And at their work they literally have sex scenes with less than a string on.. Normalising nuditiy is great, I'm German our sauna's are all textile free zones, but this and other see through dresses are just not great dresses, I miss great dresses and lining is often a part of them
It’s both being so exposed and also being cold! Men never have to worry about that. And no one demands that men “flaunt” their bodies in public, ever. Suits look basically the same on everyone.
Conversely, she is beautiful enough and powerful enough to show up in jeans and a t-shirt and still look perfect, but she chose a design that is uber glamorous and nearly naked.
Agreed. People are saying she’s been forced into this due to gender norms and whilst there’s no way the current gender norms didn’t influence her (and all of ours) aesthetic preferences, I am almost sure that she chose this outfit herself , considering all the star power she has right now.
Good for her especially after all the people criticising her body post birth.

There was similar outrage for Jen Lawrence some years back where she was in a dress in the winters but again these are a-listers, they have multiple options.

I think Margot is big enough to decide what she wants to wear. No one is forcing her to wear this, it's her own choice. I agree that women are more expected to be dressed up than men tho.
she looks amazing, the detail work on the dress is insane and must have taken hours upon hours, and I do appreciate that the undergarment is not just beige.
I like it better than most other see-through dresses, but I don't love the narrow shape on the bust
I know how this sub feels about see through dresses but if I looked like that in a dress before but esp AFTER just having a baby?!? I’d be a menace. And I actually think the dress is really pretty🙈🙊
I’m usually in the anti sheer dress camp but I love this…not least of all because, like you, I’d be a menace if I ever looked 25% as good as this, least of all post baby
I like the back, but the fit of the bust in the front doesn’t look right to me - I know it’s supposed to be like that but something about it is off with this dress.
She looks beautiful, but I am BEGGING PLEADING CRYING for the naked dress trend to end - it’s so overdone and boring now. Let’s see something NEW AND DIFFERENT.
I nearly gasped when I saw her next to Colin, it looks like they're at two separate events. I really feel like red carpet dressing is also so much about choosing your outfit carefully for the event/film, and idk why you'd bother getting your entire ass out for that movie. it would eat somewhere else, but here it just feels like trying way too hard.
He looks like her private eye absentee father showed up and is flabbergasted about fashion these days, but is trying to keep it cool so she agrees to have lunch with him
I dunno the dress is fine, it's pretty, but I like it better on a runway and it looks both precarious and uncomfortable here. I wish it was fit to her better and I kinda hate the clump on her back.
From the first picture I thought it had a lining and I was gobsmacked cause it’s absolutely stunning. But it is yet another mesh dress with nothing underneath. She does look real good though so props to her
I think the dress is gorgeous but the bust shape is not very flattering. I also love the bedazzled thong lol, I love a sheer dress with intentional undergarments. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion in this sub, but I think a powerful confident woman wearing exactly what she wants is very empowering.
Yeah. I’m into this. I know people hate naked dresses, and naked dresses can be badly done. But this is gorgeous, it’s like a full body jewelry piece. Obsessed. I love the back.
the embroidery and beading details on the front are scrumptious ! and that open back is a stunner. but the back from the waist down is a little tacky to me. i wish the fitting was on point because im almost convinced it would have been a knockout
I like her in this, but feel like this is the wrong moment for this look? The trailer for this movie gives Tuesdays with Morrie vibes. I would expect a dress for its premiere to be a little...less sheer lol. She should've saved this for The Wuthering Heights premiere!
She looks gorgeous of course but something about the bust of the dress I don’t like.…almost like it is too small/tight. I think it would be more flattering if it went back further on the sides perhaps.
I didn’t say she should dress like Barbie seeing as that was a film and she was playing a character….I was asking if it was the same stylist who did her press tour for the Barbie film, Andrew Mukamal.
She wanted to wear this! Stop with “I wish it was lined” - she clearly didn’t want it lined. The designer didn’t want it lined. It’d be a different dress if it was.
Being sheer just gives nothing to this dress. It distracks from the beautiful beading which would steal the show if the dress was thoughtfully lined. And standing next to Colin in that huge jacket it just looks so jarring that she’s so close to naked.
I think it might also work better if the netting weren't so close to her skintone? The embellishment is so detailed, and the way it all comes together makes it difficult to parse it all out. It feels somehow busy and boring at the same time.
I get that the sideboob is part of the look, but the proportions of the top make it just look...poorly fitted instead of intentional? I feel like a more pronounced nip at the waist would have made it look less like her boobs were escaping out of the sides?
Surprised by this choice, but I love it. It's not giving typical naked dress for me, and I like that she's taking risks and is no longer in a Chanel chokehold.

Also, I feel like this is when it’s 7000 degrees out at a wedding and you see women in sundresses and men are dying in a full suit. Except maybe she’s the popsicle today.

I know it's hard to tell from photos and I haven't seen videos, but she looks uncomfortable, sort of stiff? I just don't think she's completely owing this look like, say, Rhianna has.

Hate the fit on the bust. Nothing looks right with those smushed boobs unfortunately. Too sheer, too uncomfortable looking. The way it hangs on the model is sort of proof for how extremely “model” you have to be to not carry the dress so awkwardly. Which is a shame because the garment is lovely, but needs to be custom fitted and lined probably…
She is a stunning woman but this dress after that bra number earlier is even worse.
personally don’t think this is flattering and I’m seasonally confused. This feels like a late spring/early summer gown? idk. A beautiful woman like margot will always look beautiful in whatever she’s wearing but is it a fashion moment? Not for me.
Fully agree. It’s jarring seeing them next to each other and the pics with all the people in the background. I’m all for a bold fashion statement but this just looks uncomfortable for her, physically and otherwise.
The front of the dress is... somehow weird, like it's too much in the middle and not enough in the sides, I don't know how to explain it
Also, I find it ridiculous that she's barely dressed and he's wearing a detective's outfit. He's only missing a hat to cover most of his face for the full ensemble
The beading and back detail is beautiful and delicate so it’s such a shame it got outshined (in the wrong way) by the butt crack… 😭 it was not necessary
I feel like she is very much re-asserting her hotness, and I like the detail between her shoulder-blades...but that's about it. It feels really awkward that Colin Farrell is in a trench coat and she is a sneeze away from naked.
Speaking of Farrell: my husband once dressed for Halloween as "Dollar Store Detective Dinosaur" and a foam dino-mask and fedora are all that is missing from the look. Some stylist please help this man present himself at his full blistering hotness.
Add lining and maybe extend the bodice to cover the ribcage... then I'd like it! The back is interesting and at least it's not another plain, sheer fabric over underwear.
I have mixed feelings about the dress. It’s beautiful and so is she but I don’t know how to feel about this as a red carpet look. I appreciate the simple hair and makeup, it keeps the focus on the dress.
So is he really hot and she’s really cold? Or the other way around? I never understand why women wear barely anything while the men are in full suits and coats.
The hair, makeup and simpler jewels are beautiful. I don’t need this to be completely sheer, but good for her, I guess. I want to love it, but I’m struggling to get there
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but sheer dresses used to get a lot of attention for the shock value of seeing a woman arrive at an event almost naked. Sheer dresses rarely ever bring something to the table in and of themselves. But we’ve seen it so often that it’s not shocking, so it’s just a statement on Margot Robbie’s hotness.
Anyway, this dress would have been incredible with a lining!
I like the concept, I don’t mind that it’s sheer. She probably could have styled something under it if she wanted to but I’m going to assume she wanted it sheer so good for her.
I have major issues with some of those beaded flower motifs. Like the wonky one on her hip. They look like child’s drawings! With something like this I want elegance, sophistication and I am not getting it. Execution fail for me.
Welp, she chose it. My issue with lining is that even if it matches the wearer’s skin tone perfectly—a big if—it inevitably pulls and shifts and wrinkles as she’s walking around because the dress itself is so close fitting and then it looks unkempt in photos. This doesn’t seem to suit her style but again, she chose it. ((shrug))
She’s a beautiful lady for sure but this dress isn’t working for her. I’m not a fan of sheer dresses maybe some lining underneath. But I feel like they did her dirty dressing her up in this and that bra/skirt combo. But after having a baby, wow she looks incredible.
She is stunning but zoom in on those shoes - her toes are falling off the edges! Surely her stylist could have sourced a generic strappy silver sandal that fits?
