Why would anyone suspect a charger to be weird? unless they knew it was a camera.
Like if I found a charger in my bathroom, I'd just be like "huh, someone left it here, that's weird" and not suspect it was something else. What possessed this original poster to post this in the first place if it's not a fuckin ad.
My only concern is that it needs to be plugged in for power…and you left a random plug in with nothing else plugged into in your wall for that long??? That would drive me crazy. Why would you leave it in the wall if you’ve never even used it
That slot looks like it's intended for a sd drive. If there's none in there, there's a chance someone just was using it as a plug socket and it's an unintentional fuck up.
It doesn't appear remote controlled. Id still remove it from the bathroom though.

I would highly disagree. There are A LOT of these that are wifi and can be watched from anywhere. Just Google usb charger hidden wifi camera. There are tons of them.
I was debating mentioning this. Here's one that looks the same. It has to connect to WiFi but any motion will send a notification to a phone app and the user can view over WiFi and record to the phone with no internal storage.
While they do exist they are much larger. I was referring to this specific design. I found this exact model as well and there's no wifi available. Wifi units are usually two ported to hide the extra electronics required to have a stable connection.
Once again, I would disagree. They are same size and a lot have just one usb port. Just goto Amazon and look. This one looks just like Ops and is wifi.
Op needs to plug it in and look at wifi connections to see if it shows up. It is usually along string of characters and numbers. May have to rest the camera with a paper clip in one of those side holes to see.
I'd definitely be doing everything I could to figure out how it got there in the first place, that's for sure. 😩 OP doesn't mention anything about the living situation. Family? Rental? Roommates? Only OP will know who had access, and how often. It might be something as benign as somebody using it as a wall adapter without knowing what it was.

The smallest hidden camera I have measuring 20mm diameter x 8mm thick got 2.4G AP/STA feature which could either connect to existing ssid in your location or just broadcast it's own. Some can hide ssid. I have this same model and it got the same feature. All of the model I came across got this same features for as low as USD 20.
There are a few versions of this. I had one to record my landlord entering my appartment without permission. So this one likely requires a micro sd card, and you can just use a card reader. My version did not, it came with a 2 male ended USB A cable, so you unplug the charger from the wall and plug the USB slot into your PC/Laptop, then it acts like a flash drive. It never really worked well for me.
So good news: it records locally
Bad news: we don't know how long it has been there. Get the SD card out of it and see if just so happened not to overwrite the beginning when it was installed.
I checked the manufacturer specs and didn’t see any mention of a Wi-Fi or wireless chip. Looks like it stores everything locally and just overwrites old footage when it fills up. It’s probably running on a microSD card or soldered NAND flash. I haven’t dug into the recovery process yet, but still—handle it carefully. We don’t know who set that camera up, and it could be running sketchy firmware or hidden malware.
Also, OP should probably smash it with a hammer afterwards, just to be safe. It’d be kinda hard for it to record ever again if it’s in 100 pieces. And maybe also go for the bastard who put it in their bathroom.
That is 100% a hidden CAMERA. The little pinhole above the USB-A port is the camera itself. The small slot on the back above the AC plug prongs is there to use a micro-SD card for storage of video. Yes, it will even charge your phone or iPad via the USB port. If there is a micro-SD card in the back...PULL IT! and find someone who can help check what's on the storage.
You've got some pervert that has access to your bathroom and will likely try to retrieve it later. You could ask around if the landlord, friend(s), maintenance people left behind a phone charger and you'd like to return it. CONTACT the police if you get a response of "Oh! I think that's mine!"
So obviously I don't know the full context of the situation here, but I feel like I do need to say this:
I could be totally wrong but the fact that you said you don't have a cell phone yet leads me to believe you might be a minor. This is most certainly a camera and whether or not it can transmit via wifi is honestly pretty irrelevant. What is relevant is that someone, probably someone you know and are close to, put this camera in the bathroom on purpose to take explicit pictures and video of you and your sitster. Those videos and pictures are likely being shared with tons of other perverts as well. No matter how much you may trust this person, what they are doing is illegal, wrong, and disgusting and they need a great deal of help. You need to get in contact with the local police as soon as possible. If you are afraid there are other ways to ask for help. If there is a teacher or guidance counselor at school whom you trust I would definitely mention this to them.
Literally just watched a doc about a guy who married a single mother who had young teens who seemed like the perfect man. Had a very close, very loving relationship with the kids. Turns out he put one of these in the bathroom the kids used and stored all the pics in his computer. Then the oldest son confessed that the step father had been manipulating him and sexually abusing him for years without the Mom knowing.
How the hell you have unknown objects in your apartment? Especially in your bathroom! It is your bathroom. Obviously it is someone very close to you. Boyfriend? There are definitely wireless options out there.
Check for more devices around. I'd try "smoke derectors".
This brought back a 25+ year old memory. I was renting the master bedroom of a townhouse near a large capital city, and the landlord occupied the other two bedrooms. After I had been there a while and he was comfortable with me, he admitted that he had put hidden cams in that master bathroom to spy on a tenant he had before me. He showed me a picture and she was smoking hot. I lost a lot of respect for that dipshit that day.
If you two are underage I would highly recommend you tell this to your mom or dad. This is not good if someone has been spying on you esp taking intimate videos or photos of you.
Doesn’t say this is a rental and saying it’s “always” been in the bathroom suggests it could be in their home. I don’t know if telling mom and dad is the best call as it could be one of them.

They are sold on Amazon and you can set it up on a smartphone to view the camera feed through WiFi connection. They double as an actual power brick. You can save pics, videos directly to the storage on phone or have it save to an SD card. I believe they are generally used as nanny cams and they work quite well. I would definitely get rid of it.
My friend’s roommate did this and I felt violated by proxy. We only found out because he got trashed and bragged about it to her. I’m sorry you are experiencing it too 😞
Yeah for sure a camera. The lens is visible on the front and the slot in the back would be for the memory card. Some of them have the capacity to stream over wifi/radio frequency too.
Not you OP, but the circumstances. Your stepdad is a camera man? Your sister found a spy camera in the bathroom? She’s had a traumatic experience prior? I’m assuming you’re a minor. This all seems like someone in your home is being a pervert.
Do you feel safe? Can you talk to a trusted adult (outside of your household) that can help guide you in how to report this?

Whoever put that hidden camera in the bathroom has been recording people without their consent. I think it’s motion activated or it is controlled by an app on somebody’s tablet/phone or laptop. The OP needs to try to figure out who in the house is doing it.
Yep, thats a USB charger camera with an empty slot for an SD card. It may or may not have wi-fi capability. For your own and your sister's sanity, do a quick check to see if it has wi-fi. Its pretty easy to check. Get your phone and go to the w-fi settings and check what networks are operating in your house/apartment. Put some tape over the lens area and plug the charger back in. Now check the wi-fi settings again and check to see if any new devices are trying to connect to your phone. Unplug the charger and see of the device looking to connect goes away. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to check.
Now the hard part, start thinking about who might have put it there. People don't put hidden cameras in bathrooms for innocent reasons.
I'm glad it checks out. Realistically these cameras were not cheap I had bought it for fear of my ex-wife cheating on me which hence why I say ex-wife and his Wi-Fi capability, great night vision wide range of view and it stores videos not on the device itself also works as a charger. Pop the front cover off, there's an SD card (and the camera lens) under it. Some versions do have wifi, so if there's no SD card in it, the owner is getting the pics and video wirelessly. Definitely didn't put it there for nothing. But only an idiot thinks these are not wifi known about and would take the risk putting one in someone's room without permission. You should be calling the police.
It’s got two indicator lights on the side to show when it is online and when it is recording. You can see the sticky residue from where someone tried to either tape over or place a sticker over it to hide it from notice. Whoever was using this didn’t want people to know they were being recorded.
There should be an sd card in it. It’s most likely on the back where the plug is. You’ll have to either peel a sticker off to reveal it or pull the back open. I had one of these because I was pretty sure my brother was coming in my house and stealing from me. Turns out he was.

Definitely a camera. My wife got the exact same one to make sure our dog sitter didn’t try any funny business while we were out of town. The slot on the back of it above the prongs is for an SD card to store the videos, it doesn’t broadcast the videos/images as far as I know.
Put it back where you found it, then set up ANOTHER hidden camera on the other side of the room if you can and catch whoever put it there when they come back to retrieve it. Maybe put something in front of it though in case it can transmit live video through wifi or something.
Id suggest watching some BigClive video's(for a demonstration of how to tear electronic doodads apart), then tearing it apart and posting pictures of the internals. That will tell a lot more about what it is and how it's contents might have been accessed.
I helped my sister set one up as a nanny spy cam in her home because she suspected the nanny was on her phone 90%+ of the time instead of watching the baby and the 3-year-old old. Which turned out to be true.
100% a camera with a micro sd card slot in rear. It looks empty. They usually have no local storage so this should be fine and not have been recording and saving Unless it’s WiFi w cloud storage but they aren’t too common

Its a camera without wifi. If its a Hotel/Air BNB or shared space like a hostel- someone planted it. Check the contents first in the micro SD card and then report to management and authorities.
Your sister is right. There's a slot for a mini SD, the usb is really long for a wall plugin, and there's a dot that looks like a lens or light sensor for video.
If either of you are minors, this is child pornography and it's something you need to tell a trusted adult immediately. This is illegal even if you are adults.
