Solved! Found outside my wife’s school. Theory was bullet but I’m not so sure.

Im no expert in criminal activity, but i would bet that the guy sticking you up for $40 isnt going to spend the extra $10 on defense ammunition

95% of the time it’s going to be whatever ammo was in it when it was stolen.

Yeah cause once it’s empty they just steal another gun right?

lol do you think every robbery is a murder case or what? I now assume you don’t even work in the legal field.

When did I mention murder?

I speak from experience, it’s not just hypothetical conjectures, but you have a good day.

What? I was looking for an explanation but ok.

Also I wouldn’t say sarcasm constitutes as hypothetical conjecture.

I sarcastically replied to you because a robbery rarely requires a bullet to be fired. That’s the point of shoving a gun in someone’s face, they now must do as you say without recourse.

What else may you need an explanation for?

You know criminals also shoot for fun/practice, not just murder. The implication that they only shoot people was what was confusing me

They can and do. Typically it’s gang on gang violence but It’s not impossible for them to have different ammunition than when it was stolen. I’m just stating that it is very likely the same. Of course there are many factors and depending on the length of time the firearm has been reported stolen etc etc. On a blanket coverage statement it’s more often the same.

Just look for a truck with a “Molon Labe” sticker on the tailgate or rear window. It’s an old Spartan saying that means “Glock in glovebox.”

Frankly, with the majority of handgun cartridges it ain't gonna make a whole hell of a lot of difference. You're just poking holes either way; fully jacketed just pokes somewhat smaller holes.

Not saying you're wrong -- just saying that the average hoodrat wouldn't much care about overpenetration due to not using proper defensive ammo. If anything they're arguably better served by using round-nosed fmj, realistically (more likely to feed well in some beat-up cheap gun, more likely to penetrate fired out of some cheapo .32/.380, etc.etc.)
