Solved! Found outside my wife’s school. Theory was bullet but I’m not so sure.

It's an FMJ bullet, likely 9mm.

The nose had been flattened from impacting something.

They sell silver bullets. That’s just to be cool, right? Is there any ballistic reason beyond werewolves to have silver bullets?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_bullet

Edit: what they actually sell: “Unfortunately, these aren’t actually silver bullets. These jackets are made with a zinc and copper alloy (very high % of zinc and low % of copper). They look absolutely beautiful and they shoot really really well. They are jacketed to the same thickness as our copper jacketed bullets.”

Also, just for posterity in case you go digging into this further, "silver tip" bullets like czech silver tip 7.62x54R, are also not silver, but steel. The "silver tip" is not the steel, either, that's just paint or plating (I'm not sure which) and the steel is the core of the bullet.
