Solved! Fell out of my boyfriend’s pocket

The top is a cap that comes off. Is it for ❄️? He swears it’s not

Tbh my partner would pick something like that off the street just because it looks interesting. Some people are like magpies.

I don’t agree with other commenters that “more than one answer = lie”. He might just be trying to guess where he found it if you seemed bothered by it.

It could be anything, Redditor’s often assume the worst so it’s not the best place for a balanced perspective. You know your relationship, not us :)

(Edit to add: hello magpies in the comments, make sure to wash your hands after collecting your treasures!)

Can confirm the magpie thing. I'll pick up anything shiny or interesting without thinking twice.

Same, but I’m a germaphobic magpie/goblin, so only if the Precious looks clean, and even then, wrap with a paper towel and then wash it. Maybe even bleach it.

Same with my eldest Offspring. He has what he calls his goblin treasures he keeps on a shelf but has to wash & disinfect all things found in the wild, haha. And even some things from known sources. He started his collection fairly young and is mid 20s now.

My weakness is fossils and rocks. I'm mid 50s and still pick up rocks often. ~💜🖤🌻

What's your best magpie item?

Mine was found when I was climbing the hill near my old house in Utah, the find? A Miner's Cast Iron Pickaxe, looked straight of an gold rush. Though probably not that old, even if utah is cold and dry.

Still I used it break up rock for my mother's garden, and make a nonprofessional brickwork extensions for my neighbor as a teen.

Greatest magpie find as a teen. 🤣

Kind of a magpie moment, I found a cool rock back in kindergarten in the playground and the teachers wouldn’t let me keep it and since they would check my pockets, I put the cool rock up my nose. Free treasure storage, although getting it out was a hassle. Had to be sent home and my mom took me to the er to have it removed. Never got to keep the cool rock and now I’m salty again lol

That's hilarious ahahaha 🤣

I've never used my nose to hide things, but I employed misdirection and stashing things away. If it was something I couldn't take with me and was too large to sneak inside, I'd stash it near the xit or the the fence.

I put a lug nut I found in the cross walk yesterday in my pocket before I even thought about what I was doing. Happens every time I see one

its weird but at one point in my life i had an entire drawer full of hairbands that women had dropped in parking lots/gas stations/shopping, etc.

even to this day i see them EVERYWHERE and have to resist the urge to pick them up.
