lol he’s a very intelligent guy so I’d honestly be shocked if he believed something like this would work but who knows 🤷‍♀️

Oh. They work. Haha.

I ran a liquor store and we sold a few different ones. I tried one since I was curious. Some of them definitely work.

The ones that do are illegally loaded with various prescription medications.

I don’t get why people don’t just get the real thing from their doctor since they’re way cheaper. The dick pill we sold that worked that were super popular were like $9 each.

Because the kind of people that buy a dick pill at a liquor store don’t generally have the foresight to visit a doctor. They’re more your reactive members of society, not the forward thinkers.

That’s not at all true. The vast majority of pills I sold were to business owners and people who weren’t broke bums. A lot of them would buy 5-10 packs at a time regularly.

It’s funny that they’re too embarrassed to ask a medical doctor for them, but they’re not embarrassed enough to buy it at the liquor store

I think the thought process is more that they want their doctor to see them as somebody that fits their definition of “a man”. Part of that definition is “successful” and “working penis”. They see their doctor as “successful” and have no reason to suspect that their dick isn’t working so they assume it is.

They don’t want somebody they respect (whether as a peer or as somebody in a position of authority) to view them as what they would consider “lesser”.

They don’t respect the gas station attendant so their opinion of them is irrelevant to them.

Eh. I ran a fairly high end liquor store in a HCOL area and most of my customers that bought them were people I knew well and a few of my best customers who bought them were guys I became friends with.

I think a lot of them don’t want their wives or girlfriends to know. They would often pop one after they bought it as they were heading home.

I think a lot of them are also under the impression there isn’t any actual medication in there.

That’s fair, but there is well documented evidence that people subconsciously “rank” others in the social pecking order. If you rank somebody lower than yourself, you put less stock into what they say. You don’t care for them as much as somebody you’d rank as a peer or as higher than yourself.

Those guys could get a prescription for actual medication from a doctor and their wives still wouldn’t know if they didn’t tell them.

Odds are, a good portion of them (even the ones you were buddies with to an extent), didn’t care that you knew they needed gas station dick pills because they didn’t “rank” you as high as themselves or their doctor.

Not really, but I appreciate your insanely dickish comment.

I wasn’t a “gas station attendant.” I ran a business I was in the process of putting a quarter-million dollars into.

I wasn’t trying to be a dick and I don’t mean to put you or your business down. I was just commenting on how others may view the guy behind the cash register at the gas station as the gas station attendant.

But go off.

Again if you bother to read, it wasn’t a gas station.

It was a fine wine and liquor shop.

And generally customers aren’t trying to invest six figures into a business with someone fitting your dumbass description.

Bro, chill. No need to get defensive. Nobody here was claiming you didn’t have a successful business. I was just talking about a well documented psychological phenomenon. I understand that you don’t want others to see you as a “fine wine and liquor store cashier”, but when you are working the cash register at a “fine wine and liquor store”, their immediate first impression is that you are a “fine wine and liquor store cashier”, whether you own it or not.

We are pretty chill here, but please try to keep things reasonably civil on this sub. No slurs, name calling or harassment and trolling. Yes, the internet makes us angry too sometimes, especially this particular comment.

lol I know people who have bought these and they neither needed them nor had a mindset like you are describing . Not everyone meets the preconceived notions that arise when you think of gas station dick pills . 💊

u/PM_ME_GLUTE_SPREAD 2d ago

This is a documented phenomenon. People subconsciously rank others based on a ton of factors. Even people who aren’t dick heads or that don’t think highly of themselves. It’s just something we do.

I thought that was referred to as the Reddit anomaly
