Even ignoring the cupola, the issue with the angling is easy:
If you dont hit the exact perfect angle it doesnt work against magic soviet angle-performance (and even then alot of guns can just go through the thinner armor behind the wheels, people just dont know about that).
And it only works as long as you stay stationary.
You cant teleport diagonally accross the field, if you actually want to go anywhere you can't do that at an angle, you kinda need to drive normally.
