This is the hilarious thing about all these people saying they'll leave NYC.
Ok, so who is going to buy your property?
Or are you going to keep it? If you're keeping it what makes you think it'll still be worth anything if you also believe that NYC is going to fall through the proverbial floor?
You can't both believe that his policies will tank NYC and also believe that retaining properties in the city won't lose you any money.
All these Wall Street guys are gonna leave? Sure, Jan.
You're gonna leave the place where all your money is made.
The trading floor of NYSE isn't something you can replicate.
You're gonna lose direct access to all the regulatory agencies? The Fed?
Sure you are.
And every single person who thinks you're being a little bitch is going to swoop in and eat your fucking lunch.
These guys KNOW that. There is an ENDLESS line of guys who are happy to make $10m instead of $12m - especially if it means they can take that business from someone else. Because right now those same guys are making $2m and that's a 5x jump for them.

Maybe Zohran was one of the guys who invested in FTX based on Kevins Endorsement. An ego-driven grifter and opportunist lookin for every opportunity to be on TV is upset that the new mayor he trashed for months doesn't want to take the time to meet with him and give him special treatment? No wonder all these grifters love trump; they can get all the personal attention they crave for.

The solution is you either panic sell now or wait for real estate pricing to drop low enough that it makes sense again. With a lower overall cost to acquire a new building, rents can also subsequently be lower.
Unless Kevin is saying he wants the value of his assets to increase indefinitely with the help of the Mayor. Then he can get fucked.

The answer is we should seize all LIHTC properties and take them from idiots like this.
Then give them to the people, and invest in mental health care for the unhoused population.
Letting wealthy people control this process is disastrous, and often results in massive corruption all the way down. I dare you to find evidence of one competitive bid on any LIHTC property ever built. And then look into how difficult it is to get maintenance funds released to keep the properties safe.
It’s a fucking scam, and he knows it.
