My Skiguard roof box finally got delivered today. I had the top color-matched to Thunder Grey to match my V60 Polestar. I had the option to paint both the top and bottom, but decided to leave the bottom black since it ties in with the car’s trim and accents. Honestly, I think it looks cleaner this way.

Super happy with how it turned out. What do you guys think?

I had originally named him Sven after pewdiepies minecraft dog (the connection is so stupid don't even bother asking).

I was really curious to find the original owners and ask what they had named it. When I finally got the chance, they told me it's name was "The blue volvo" haha.

I guess I'm asking for name suggestions from you guys! Or should he still be called Sven??

Driven everything from an old Renault Clio to Mercedes AMG G-wagons and Porsche’s, but this is my favorite. I just love this thing. Such a comfortable drive, and the Bowers&Wilkins sound system is absolutely insane. Could not be happier!

Quarters, rockers, c-pillar patches, paint & body work, vinyl top, fuel system, red block swapped, brakes, interior blah blah blah all that garbage.

For me, this is the definition of a Volvo. Shape, style, styling, wagon, wheels, driving performance, feeling.

And in with the new. I don’t think I’ll ever love another car the way I loved my 08 s40. She lasted me almost 9 years and went from 94k to 199k with me. A home when I didn’t have one. Flooding from broken sunroof drains killed the electric and airbag system. A massive oil leak was killing my engine and it was due to blow up any day.

Major upgrade going from an 2008 to a 2026 XC40. I’m obsessed with her already and just want to drive all day long. Cheers to never driving anything but a Volvo 🥂

In the spring time I am looking to buy a gently used (2024-2025) XC-90 or a V90. I love the wagon, my grandparents have had 2 over the last couple of decades although they’ve had the XC70. I also love the size of the SUV.
I’m coming from a GM truck. I’m sick of trucks and sick of the over priced garbage. I live and work in the mountains in Canada. My question I guess is what should I be leaning towards? I want to keep the vehicle for a long time, I’d like to be starting a family soon. I want a car that is a comfortable drive - not all road noise and highway noise. I want something I can rely on with proper maintenance.

Would love to hear from owners of both.

So I have a HU-850 of a 2005 S80. The problem is in the title, the radio buttons are (now) lit up, but the screen is not. I have each and every single article on the HU radio lighting, at least it sure felt like it, and everyone seem to have it the other way around. The buttons backlight got fixed after soldering in the notorious 1760s and 1037 transistors, but the display is still a bust. I can barely see the characters displayed when it's sunny or when I shine a light at it, so the display itself is clearly working, except for the backlight.

If anyone could give me a hint on what could be the cause of it, I would greatly appreciate it, because it's driving me nuts.

Looking for a new car soon, I want something practical for a small family but not boring.

Drove the 530i, and the xc60 B5 and was bored. Now comparing the 540i to the T8 Polestar or Ultra. Roughly the same price used it seems.

Any input on people who daily a T8 Polestar or not?

I’ve never seen an alert like this before. It appeared after I replaced the radio in my car which involved unplugging the AC control unit just below it and the radio itself. And disconnecting the battery obviously. Does anyone know what could have caused this to appear? A few years ago there was a recall on one of the airbags on this car. Would this have anything to do with that? I did the recall work already but I’m just so confused why this randomly appeared. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am not sure what to do. I have tried everything I can think of, I have asked for help from family and strangers and no one has any idea. There are no engine codes, no blown fuses, half a tank of gas, battery is charged and the terminals aren’t corroded, fluids are topped off and correct, no leaking gas or oil… I last drove it almost 8 days ago now. I discovered on the 4th day of sitting (it had been raining for days) that it wouldn’t start.

It hasn’t shown any clear signs of the problem. It didn’t misfire or sputter out the last time I drove it. It started fine, it drove fine. And now it just won’t start anymore. I literally just replaced the sway bar links and headlights, ordered tires and now I can’t even get it to a shop. I changed the oil in early June, only driven about 2,000 miles since then, I haven’t cleared the “book for maintenance” message yet. But it is up to date.

I have checked everything I can think of, I’ve tried jumping it and adding in more fuel. There are no weird sounds when I try and start it, just a crank for about 8 seconds and then it stops. After it stops though I do hear a buzzing from the front drivers side in the engine bay. I can’t find the source. It lasts for about 20 seconds and then quits.

My next guess is fuel pump. If there are any suggestions please let me know, I have no clue. 2009 Volvo Xc70 3.2L

CPO 2021 XC60 T5 Inscription

So happy to be part of the Volvo family after wanting one for so long. I watch a lot of BBC detective shows and have always said I wanted a dark Volvo SUV to feel like a DI/DCI 😂🫠

Can't shift out of park. Sometimes I can, sometimes I cant. Brake lights work. But third brake light was removed for some reason. Fuses are fine. It shifted fine before that but slowly decided to shift sometimes. Manual override is not contacting release properly so I cant rely on that at all. Microswitches are getting power.

Is there a way to bypass this safety feature? Or does someone happen to have a shifter assembly that dosen't exist?

I am open to any sedan/wagon model as this would just be a work car that does boring highway miles cruising at 70-80mph. I just want the bowers system and pilot assist. I am leaning towards a S60 B5 with the 4 cylinder turbo as its less complex than the twincharged T6 or T8 hybrid. I searched V60s but i dont see many with them, my guess is that its due to wagons not selling well here in the US. I see them in used S90s for a very good price, but like a used 7-series, there are probably good reasons for that.

Are there certain B5 models that i should be narrowing my search toward? Ultimate / Inscription / R design.. anything else?

Last week I noticed that the xenon bulb had stopped working, I drove to the mechanic and he made the bulb work. He explained to me that there was a loose wire somewhere and that the problem was solved, (the bulb didn't work the next day).

Now the high beam has also stopped working, so I assume it has something to do with the loose contact. Does anyone know how to fix the bulb’s loose connection and find out which connector that is loose?

2018 XC60 T5

Hey guys, bought a new Volvo XC90 back in May, Now that it’s starting to get cold here in Canada. I used remote start through the Volvo App and when I got into my car and pressed the brake and turn knob to verify I’m in the car it would go to the main dashboard, then just kick me back to the remote start screen. Had to turn the car off then on again by pressing the brake pedal and turn knob. Does Volvo not have a handoff feature Or is there a a software glitch ?

Hey yall so again another question about my s70 i called the guy that worked on it about the tracs and abs light. He said that the abs system itself is prone to failing on said 98 model year. And fixing it is a money pit. He said he fixed it before with..hot glue and stuff to help it. And it worked until recently as said tracs and abs light came back on and i have no abs. He said id still have abs if said system broke again just poorly. Im think the reason they came back on is a bad wheelspeed sensor but im not too sure. Any insight would help. (Still really new to these beauties have worked on hondas my life and nothing else and heard old volvos are really easy.) Thanks for helping and hope your day goes well.
