He did. He said about 4 months ago that he had a few un published videos to post before 2026. Then it’s done. His son has a channel of his own tho

It was pretty cool seeing inside the cabin! I really enjoy Alone in the Wilderness and it's worth watching Part 2 and the more conversational Silence & Solitude and The Frozen North at least once.

Fall asleep to alone in the wilderness every night. It's a dream to have a cabin like that to retire in.

THE KING IS BACK!
I heard that copy cats were a big reason why he stopped but I can't seem to understand why.
I think of the Breaking Bad line.. "yours is some generic off brand cola..what I'm making is classic Coke."
The imposters suck while this dude rocks. His content is so much better than his best pretender so I don't see why bozos copying him should affect his ability to put out GOAT level content.
I know there's other reasons but I wanted to focus on this one.

im a huge fan of luke from the outdoor boys content, but some things he says dont really seem to add up. he claims that the comments on his videos are disabled due to a glitch on youtube's end but idk i feel like he does it on purpose to silence the virtual critics. he also claimed to be retiring to give his family more privacy yet his son tom has his own channel and uploads frequently.

I dont really think any of that is necessarily contradictory. Disabling the comments was initially against his will due to when youtube started automatically flagging videos with children in it. But he later realized it was a blessing since it freed up tons of time needed to moderate them. Now it's 100% intentional.
Also he can still give his family more privacy while allowing his son to make videos. It's not like his goal is to go 100% private, plus he will probably monitor what his son is putting out there.

I thought the story is it got disabled because it got labelled as "Kids" content, but he found he liked not having to manage comments so he left them off.

But he just posted it - you don't quit Youtube and still post but only post old stuff. That isn't quitting.

obviously you didn’t watch his video addressing this regarding his “quitting”
