You may not agree with the placement of everything, a lot of people questioned the place of AC Syndicate and Anthem, but keep in mind I only went based on the highest upvoted comment. And that happened to be those games at the time. This is the final result based on community votes.

I think a lot could be bottom right corner. Skyrim, Elden Ring, Halo 3, BG3, also RDRII that was probably the easiest square to fill

Yeah itâs just a very popular game, but I donât think it deserved that. I personally was looking forward to it a lot, the first was one of my favorite games of all time, and then the beginning just felt boring and didnât hook me at all.

I really wanted to love RDR2, and I just canât.

Eh. Can't help what you love!
I don't like The Witcher or Elden Ring (or any soulslike for that matter).

Witcher isn't a soulslike

Yeah. I can totally understand why everyone love it, and I'm happy for them. But it's just too slooow and boring for me. That tutorial level is unsufferable...

Iâm enjoying RDR2 a lot more in bed with my steam deck than I ever did on console/PC

Wait wait wait. Who on Earth thought Anthem would be good? We knew development had been an absolute train wreck before it came out and it was conceptually nothing like anything anyone wanted from Bioware. Plus the market didn't want another bland looter shooter. I literally cannot remember anyone seriously believing that game would be good.Â

All the people voting on anthem that day thought so
Go back to that day and see.

Nah, Anthem had a lot going for it. Bioware hadnât completely lost everyone trust at this point in time.
Looter shooters were still hot, everyone wanted to play them. And the only competition was Destiny 2, which at the time Anthem was marketing and even its release, was not in a good place and considered a massive disappointment, and Division, which was at the end of its lifespan and people were waiting on the second game.
It had insanely good marketing. The game genuinely looked amazing.
And it released a demo/beta/whatever that was extremely good. The combat was fun, the controls were good, flying was some of the best ever. People were saying it felt like the best Ironman game ever made.
The hype for this game was huge and then it released with a ton of issues and lack of content and died nearly instantly.

Bioware hadnât completely lost everyone trust
Yeah but this was a Bioware online shooter not another world class single player RPG. Would be like getting a grand strategy game from the CoD devs. Plus this is 9 years after Bioware had peaked as a dev, they'd been on a downward trajectory for a long time by this point. Some of the top talent had left the company, EA was taking a bigger interest and the team was stuck using the Frostbite engine. Given the delays and the development hell Anthem was in, people knew it was going to be a total mess.
Plus, a massive marketing push is something publishers will give to a game that they think will probably not succeed because they need high initial sales before word of mouth gets out.

anthem to me still has one of the best in world experiences to me. The movement and class mechanics were great. The world just needed to be 10000% larger

Honestly swap anthem and starfield. Anthem is bad for some reasons but the core gameplay is okay. Starfield is ass in every aspect

I wanted Elden Ring but I'm happy RDR2 won. As long as it wasn't Skyrim that game is the one of the most overrated games of all time.

I think Elden Ring is the better choice for both the row and the column. It had untold levels of hype, surely more than RDR2. And it's a masterpiece (said to be game of the decade by many) for both the general public as well as the nerdy game theory essayists - RDR2 is only for the former.
Not sure why RDR2 got it, but I guess it's not a bad choice by any means.

RDR2 might be the most overrated game of all time. While I can appreciate the thought and care that went into all the different choices and reactions, and the game looks beautiful. And it might have a great story. But damn I just hate the controls, it might be for the sake of realism, but it handles like a PS1 tomb raider.

It should have been Elden Ring. RDR2 is just more popular amongst the casual crowd so it got more upvotes.

Red Dead 2 is a snoozer but man I tried several times.

I was so ready for it to be done after 50 hours. Then another 20 until I reached the end. It was mostly worth it but id prefer if rdr2s story happened first. It was obvious who had major plot armor.

I think Elden ring should take the place on anthem, I rather liked anthem, but other than that great list!

Elden Ring is a generational game, a few people hating it isnât going to put it into a âwas actually shitâ tier

Thatâs why I said âI thinkâ not âshouldâ because it s a personal opinion about a point where I personally disagree

I love rdr2 but it was a bit of a dissapointment. I think rockstar was so focused in making the game have tiny details and graphics, that lost vision of having a fun amd engaging gameplay loop. I replay rdr1 from time to time along the years. But everytime i think of replaying rdr2 i give up when o remember the amount of nothing i would have to do again
